  • Patent number: 11934509
Abstract: The method disclosed herein provides for performing user authentication and maintaining user authentication and access to a first device based on the user maintaining control of the first device. The continued control may be based on determining the user's continued possession of the first device, or determining an acceptable proximity of the user to the first device. The proximity of the user may be determined using a second device associated with the user, or sensors associated with the first device.

  • Patent number: 11924230
Abstract: Data is collected from a set of devices according to a data collection policy. The data is associated with at least one of: device configuration, device state, or device behavior. A norm is established using the collected data. A different data collection policy is established based on the norm. Data is collected from a particular device according to the different data collection policy. The norm is compared to the data collected from the particular device. If there is a deviation beyond a threshold deviation between the norm and the data collected from the particular device, a responsive action is taken.

  • Publication number: 20090201380
Abstract: An apparatus having at least a first interface system. The at least a first interface system has a sensor interface portion for receiving an input of successive frames of a moving image from a video capture device; a processor portion that causes the input of successive frames of the moving image to be stabilized, compressed, and averaged, and a transmission component portion for transmitting the stabilized, compressed, and averaged input of successive frames of a moving image across a network. The stabilization of the successive frames of the moving image reduces the effects of unintended motion of the video capture device and is utilized to determine a feedback control. The processor portion utilizes the feedback control to cause the moving image to remain substantially centered within the individual frames of the input of successive frames of the moving image by causing the adjustment of the video capture device.

  • Patent number: 7146846
Abstract: Wooden utility pole structures are nondestructively tested while in service, in particular utility pole cross-arms. A helicopter or boom truck brings an operator to the cross-arm. Manually striking the cross-arm using a hammer or other weight with an attached accelerometer senses and sends a shock wave through the cross-arm. The shock wave also is sensed using a second accelerometer sensor in a temporarily affixed sensor pod at the other end of the cross-arm, or alternatively, a non-contact radar vibration sensor is trained on a fastener in the cross-arm, to sense vibration from the shock wave. Practical aspects include mounting particulars for affixing the sensor pod against the cross-arm, manipulating the sensor pod at an elevation below the helicopter working platform, measurements for dimensions and density, etc. The data is received at a processor and correlated with structural strength or used to rank the relative strength of cross-arms.
