  • Publication number: 20060013649
Abstract: A cradle assembly for installing trench drain or conduit channels which enables the channels to be suspended from support rods while simultaneously permitting the adjustment of the channel height with in the trench. Because the assembly enables the channel to be supported by the support rods while permitting adjustment of the channel height, final adjustments can be performed by a single worker.

  • Publication number: 20050281619
Abstract: A drainage channel installation device comprises a channel-securing member and a channel-hanging member. The channel-securing member releasably engages the channel-hanging member and has opposed ends that are adapted to be releasably secured to the opposed side walls of a drainage channel. The channel-hanging-member has both an engaging end that is adapted to releasably engage the channel-securing member and a suspending end that is adapted to receive and retain a suspending member. As a result, when the channel-securing member and the channel-hanging member are releasably engaged, the channel-securing member is releasably secured to the opposed side walls of the drainage channel and the suspending end of the channel-hanging member receives and retains the suspending member, the drainage channel can be suspended from the suspending member for installation of the drainage channel. The drainage installation device is reusable and allows the drainage channel to be positioned within a trench at any desired level.

  • Patent number: 6172940
Abstract: Acoustic intensity is measured by a submerged probe consisting of two passive geophones mounted in spaced relationship with their sensing axes aligned. The geophones are connected through a cable to a remote spectrum analyzer in which acoustic intensity is computed from the velocity gradient between the two geophones. The exclusive use of geophones, which inherently have low impedance outputs, eliminates the need for preamplification in the probe. The geophones are mounted inside an acoustically transparent, thin rubber shell, which reduces the effects of noise due to flow.

  • Patent number: 5882743
Abstract: An absorbent folded hand towel having improved effectiveness at hand drying based on the weight of the towel. The towel is composed of an absorbent fibrous cellulosic web having in combination: 1) a total area of less than about 500 cm.sup.2 ; 2) a basis weight of greater than about 45 gsm; 3) a TWA of greater than about 3 g/g; and 4) a unit tensile strength of less than about 1300 meters, so that the hand towel provides a hand towel utility of less than about 5 grams per hand dry event.

  • Patent number: 5878381
Abstract: A system and method for collecting data on individual and aggregate use of toilet tissue or other types of rolled absorbent paper in a public washroom includes a sensing system for sensing one or more characteristics of paper use at a particular dispensing location, and a recording system for receiving and recording data from said sensing system, whereby paper use at the dispensing location can be monitored and studied. The system further analyzes the data to determine such things as the total amount of paper used, the duration of time over which paper is used, the number of discrete pulls on the paper taken by a user and the amount of paper taken by a user per discrete pull.

  • Patent number: 5853845
Abstract: An improved folded absorbent paper product includes first, central panel; a second panel, unitary with the first panel and folded over a first side of said first panel; a third panel, unitary with the first panel, and folded over a second side of the first panel; a fourth panel, unitary with the second panel, and folded so as to be positioned between the first and second panels; and a fifth panel that is unitary with the third panel and folded so as to be positioned between said first and third panels. Advantages of the improved product include an optimization of weight to space considerations, the fact that exposed edges are kept out of view, an ability to work in a gravity feed dispenser in any of four possible orientations, and an assurance of double ply strength at intended gripping locations. A method of dispensing and of use is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5723179
Abstract: A method for use with dye-based ionic ink jet inks is disclosed whereby the ink jet ink becomes substantially waterfast upon application to a print substrate. The method includes treating a print substrate with a precipitant composition and jetting an ionic ink jet ink onto the print substrate, wherein the precipitant composition includes water and an ionic precipitant of opposite ionic charge from the ionic ink jet ink. The print substrate may be treated during formation of the print substrate or after formation of the print substrate and before jetting the ionic ink jet ink onto the print substrate. By this method, the ionic precipitant composition reacts with the oppositely charged ionic ink jet ink to form a precipitant on the print substrate that is substantially waterfast.

  • Patent number: 4447284
Abstract: A pneumatic-electromagnetic latch is disclosed as applied to bring the sealing jaws of an L-sealer into pressure engagement without impact. An electromagnet mounted on a piston rod of a pneumatic actuator attracts and retains an armature attached to the sealing jaws when the jaws are brought close to the sealing bed. The cylinder of the actuator is attached to the frame and when actuated it draws the sealing jaws into smooth pressure contact with the sealing bed. Upon deenergization of the electromagnet the jaws are released to open for the next sealing cycle and the release of fluid pressure in the actuator extends the piston rod to position for the next operation.
