Abstract: A wayside railway sensor package is provided to detect railway wheels for the purposes of assessing the speed and direction of a train in order to align any measured characteristic on said moving train with the proper vehicle. The stand-alone package is easily installed in the web of the rail using standard tools. When used in combination with recent processing techniques, the package can be used to replace one or more components or subsystems on all common wayside detectors while also providing enhanced capabilities and improved reliability. The package also contains sensors that provide data used for assessing additional rail, wheel, and vehicle conditions directly.

Abstract: An electronic device comprising an image sensor, an orientation sensor, and a user interface, may be operable to capture photographs via the image sensor. Input to the user interface required for triggering a photo capture may depend on an orientation of the electronic device indicated by the orientation sensor. Input required to trigger a photo capture while the orientation sensor indicates a first orientation of the electronic device may be different than input required to trigger a photo capture while the orientation sensor indicates a second orientation of the electronic device.

A computer server is accessible with a network access device via a communications network. Executable software stored on the server is executed to transmit data relating to trading investment vehicles secured by governmental assets; to receive an instruction to buy or sell an investment vehicle secured by governmental assets; and to transmit a live order from an investor, wherein the live order is related to the instruction to buy or sell an investment vehicle secured by governmental assets. A database of investment vehicle profiles is maintained that includes a term, a face value, a governmental guarantee to repay the face value at the end of the term, a payment schedule requiring periodic payments by the governmental entity comprising a percentage of the face value, and an allocation of appreciation of the pool of governmental assets during the term of the investment vehicle.

Abstract: A method of assembling a connection for branched radiator coolant hose in which the hoses to be connected are adhered onto the ends of a T-shaped connector. Then a capsule of rubber is molded around the area of the connection and cured to form a unitary and integral connection.
