    Abstract: The present invention relates to an edible film composition comprising: a safe and effective amount of a cellulose based film forming agent comprising a mixture of at least one low viscosity cellulose based film forming agent and at least one high viscosity cellulose based film forming agent; a safe and effective amount of a plasticizing agent; and a safe and effective amount of a flavoring agent; wherein the film composition rapidly dissolves in the oral cavity. This invention further relates to a method of increasing film strength of an edible film composition while maintaining rapid film dissolution, by incorporating the above described cellulose based film forming agents into an edible film composition. In one embodiment the edible film is a breath freshening film.
