  • Patent number: 10294679
Abstract: A support bracket for securement to a vertically extending wall stud and providing cantilevered support of a horizontally disposed shelf unit, the support bracket incorporating a support arm and a vertically movable stud gripping mechanism, the mechanism including a pair of side plates that are laterally adjustable for movement and securing connection where desired onto studs of differing widths. The support arm is longitudinally elongate and includes support webs on each side for supporting an opposite end of a shelf, the webs including linear spacers and apertures for positioning and enabling securement of a shelf end to the bracket. Multiple pairs of support brackets enable a succession of shelf units to be assembled into side-by-side relation on respective studs to form a substantially continuous elongated horizontal surface.

  • Patent number: 8668580
Abstract: A system and method for retaining, associating, and reloading a user's preferences in a video game system without requiring active participation from the user is provided. The system may include an object control mechanism for receiving a passive indication from the user to perform a fingerprint scan of the user's fingertip. A fingerprint scanner may be coupled to the object control mechanism for transparently performing the fingerprint scan to generate identifying data for the user. If the identifying data for the user matches identifying data for a preexisting user, then preferences associated with the preexisting user may be reloaded. If the identifying data for the user does not match identifying data for a preexisting user, then preferences of the user may retained and associated with the user's identifying data.

  • Patent number: 8175002
Abstract: There is provided a method of managing power utilization for use by a first communication system having a first communication mode and a second communication mode, for communication over a PHY connection through a cable connecting the two systems. The method comprises establishing the PHY connection with the second communication system, detecting interoperability of the two systems in the first communication mode, determining a length of the cable connecting the first communication system to the second communication system, selecting a mode based on the length of the cable, if the detecting detects interoperability of the first communication system and the second communication system in the first communication mode, selecting the second communication mode as the mode, if the detecting does not detect interoperability of the first communication system and the second communication system in the first communication mode, communicating data using the PHY connection through the cable in the mode.

  • Publication number: 20060022681
Abstract: A system for detecting connector compatibility with a time domain reflectometry (TDR) circuit on a peripheral device. A cable connects the peripheral device and a second peripheral device. A first connector is for mating to a second connector on the second peripheral device. The time domain reflectometry can be used to detect electrical compatibility of the first and second connectors. The first connector can be an RJ11 connector. The second connector can be an RJ45 connector. The first connector can be a plug, and the second connector can be a socket. The number of pins of the first and second connectors can be different. The first connector can be a telco connector, and the second connector can be an Ethernet connector. The TDR circuit can be part of the peripheral device diagnostics.

  • Patent number: 6167280
Abstract: In a wireless telecommunications system (40), a subscriber unit (44) transmits a request for a data connection (10) to cellular infrastructure equipment (46), wherein the data connection is between the requesting subscriber unit (42) and a data receiver (80,82) coupled to the cellular infrastructure equipment (46) via a public switched telephone network (68). In response to the transmitted request (10), data connection configuration parameters (78) stored in the cellular infrastructure (46) are selected (90), and the data connection is configured (208) according to the selected data configuration parameters. Data connection configuration parameters may include AT commands from the AT command set.
