  • Patent number: 9493294
Abstract: A container is constructed for storing bulk material, and more specifically welding electrode, that incorporates layers of substantially dissimilar materials. A first layer of material provides rigidity to the container, while a second layer of material provides a vapor barrier for restricting moisture from entering the container. The container walls may be configured such that a vapor barrier is disposed between the rigid container walls.

  • Publication number: 20070175786
Abstract: A box for shipping and dispensing a welding wire wound into a generally cylindrical mass having a cylindrical core cavity concentric with a vertical axis. The box has four sidewalls with an integral generally triangular flap where at least one of the flaps has an upper generally square crown section with a wire outlet opening. The flaps have a folded down position wherein they overlap each other in a flat plane above the wire mass and an assembled up position defining a four sided pyramid shaped tent above the wire mass, with the crown section assembled in a plane generally parallel to the flat plane and at least 6.0 inches above the flat plane with the wire outlet opening aligned with the axis.

  • Publication number: 20070051716
Abstract: A manufacturing process is disclosed for manufacturing and packaging cored welding electrode. The process comprises providing core fill material, providing a strip of sheath material, bending the strip into a U or V shape, adding the fill material into a channel of the bent strip, joining the outer edges of the strip to provide a cored electrode with the fill material enclosed within the sheath material, providing a generally rectangular container, and installing the cored electrode into the container.

  • Publication number: 20060196794
Abstract: A container for packaging and unwinding a welding wire having a natural cast that is essentially a straight line. The container including a box with vertical side walls each having an inner wall surface and vertically extending corners between the side walls, a closed bottom, a top opening for removing the welding wire. The container further including a first vertically extending cylindrical liner with a first radial outwardly facing surface and a first radial inwardly facing surface wherein the first inward surface has a diameter A and is coaxial with a vertically extending container axis such the first liner is supported by the side walls. The container further includes a second cylindrical liner having a second radial outwardly facing surface and a second radial inwardly facing surface. The second outward surface having a diameter B that is less than diameter A and is coaxial with the axis.
