Abstract: A system and method are provided for transmitting a broadband interference signal and allowing communication through the transmitted interference signal. The system includes an interference transmitter for transmitting the interference signal, the interference transmitter having a transmitter feeder and a first antenna; a radio receiver for receiving a radio signal, the radio receiver having a radio feeder and a second antenna collocated with the first antenna of the interference transmitter; a steering signal generator for introducing at least one steering signal into the interference signal at the transmit feeder; a first directional coupler for sampling a portion of the interference signal that includes at least one of the steering signals; a negative feedback loop for adjusting the amplitude and phase of the sampled portion of the interference signal; and a second directional coupler for coupling the adjusted sampled portion of the interference signal into the radio feeder.

Abstract: There is provided an oro-nasal mask for use in a respirator, comprising a resilient material which mask is capable of recovering its original shape on release from a collapsed. A compact, emergency respirator including the mask is also provided.

Abstract: In one aspect, pharmaceutical compositions comprising dispersions of an acid-sensitive drug and a neutral dispersion polymer are disclosed. The acid-sensitive drug has improved chemical stability relative to dispersions of the drug and acidic polymers. In another aspect, pharmaceutical compositions of low-solubility drugs and amphiphilic, hydroxy-functional vinyl copolymers are disclosed.

Abstract: A composition comprising a basic drug, a drug which forms a zwitterion, or a salt of either entity, admixed with a polymer selected from hydroxypropylmethylcellulose acetate succinate (HPMCAS), cellulose acetate trimellitate (CAT), cellulose acetate phthalate (CAP), hydroxypropylcellulose acetate phthalate (HPCAP), hydroxypropylmethyl-cellulose acetate phthalate (HPMCAP), and methylcellulose acetate phthalate (MCAP). The compositions having improved solubility, hence bioavailability, in the small intestine; Processes for testing such compositions, and methods of using such compositions. The compositions comprise the basic drug, zwitterion, or salt and one or more of the aforementioned polymers. The invention further relates to a method for increasing the bioavailability of a basic or a zwitterionic drug comprising co-administering the basic drug, the zwitterionic drug, or the salt, with one or more of the aforementioned polymers.
