  • Patent number: 4936190
Abstract: An electrooptical sighting system which provides a sight picture of a target in video display form to the gunner having an electrooptical telescope rigidly fixed to the muzzle end of a gun tube, a fiber-optic transmission link, a sense head for transforming the optical image transmitted from the telescope via the fiber-optic link into a digital voltage signal, a system controller for processing the digital voltage signal. The controller provides an output to a video monitor allowing continuous viewing of the target regardless of framing rate. A means for the multiple coupling of the optics of electronics thereby providing automatic magnification of the picture is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4798094
Abstract: A controlled clearance piston load cell consisting of a piston and pressure acketed cylinder that has integral to its structure a system of hydrostatic bearings which provide centering of the piston in the cylinder and alignment of the piston-to-cylinder interface. Also, the geometry of the cylinder and pressure jacket is such as to provide the controlled clearance constriction at a predetermined location. When used with a controlled clearance dead weight piston gage, this self-aligning load cell can be utilized as a primary force standard in the calibration of force-measuring devices.

  • Patent number: H206
Abstract: A high pressure, short rise time pulse is generated by first pressurizing a arge chamber utilizing a pressure fluid. An initially closed channel communicates the large chamber with a small test chamber that is closed except for the channel and to which one or more pressure gauges are connected. One of the pressure gauges may be utilized as a standard to indicate pressure in the chamber while another one of the gauges can be calibrated utilizing the device. The channel is abruptly opened to discharge the high pressure fluid from the large chamber to the small test chamber. Only a small amount of fluid enters the small test chamber but the pressures in the large and small chamber are equalized rapidly so that the small chamber experiences a high pressure, short rise time pulse.
