Abstract: A method for making a field repair on a hollow pole includes installing a sleeve spaced outwardly from the hollow pole and extending from an elevation above the top elevation of the damaged portion down to the concrete foundation, filling the interior of the pole and the space between the pole and the sleeve with concrete from the foundation to an elevation above the top elevation of the damaged portion, which effectively extends the anchorline of the structure upwardly to encompass the damaged area of the structure.

Items of electronic content accessed by individuals over a global communications network are identified. A set of content that includes the plurality of identified items of electronic content are stored. The set of content is normalized. Each of the keywords contained the set of content is identified and a semantic distance between each of the identified keywords is measured.

In connection with the invention, a data structure is created by identifying a plurality of words and mapping each word to one or more categories. The data structure is indexed. An item of content is identified and classified based on the data structure. Abstract: A concrete pole includes an attachment mechanism which provides a structurally sound means of attaching to the pole and permits the use of short, inexpensive bolts. The attachment mechanism includes reinforcing bars, a base plate, an internally threaded fastener insert fixed to the base plate, which provides a path from the base plate, which is embedded in the concrete pole, to the finished outside surface of the pole. One embodiment includes a pipe connecting opposing fastener inserts for added strength.

Abstract: This invention is a modular pole assembly comprised of corner pieces and panel members. Panel members are slidably engaged to the corner pieces and are retained in a direction normal to the engagement direction by a track in each slot that nests within a groove in each panel member. Comer pieces may include multiple slots along each side, allowing for multiple layers of panel members along each side, thereby increasing strength and allowing an insulative and structural fill material to be added between panel member layers. The height of the modular pole may be increased by inserting splicing posts between consecutive, adjacent corner members and inserting splicing pieces between co-planar adjacent panel members. The modular nature of the pole assembly provides for simple packaging and shipment of the various components and easy assembly at or near the installation location.

Abstract: A system and method are provided of extracting spectra from data produced by temporally indexed spectral scans from a spectrometer and spectrometer. The method includes the operation of receiving a data matrix from the spectrometer. The noise can then be removed from the data matrix. A further operation is identifying spectra of interest in the data matrix based on information content. In addition, a reduction transformation can be applied to the data matrix based upon the spectra of interest based upon the denizen transformation for the purpose of extracting the spectra of interest from the data matrix.
