  • Publication number: 20210209543
Abstract: Primary vehicles having cameras or other sensors generate and transmit instructions for causing secondary vehicles, such as personal delivery devices, to travel on selected courses and speeds. The primary vehicles capture and process images or other data to determine positions or orientations of the secondary vehicle, to detect any obstacles, and to select courses or speeds for the secondary vehicle based on the locations of the obstacles or one or more objectives of a task or function. Alternatively, the secondary vehicles may also capture images or other data, and transmit the images or data to the primary vehicle for processing. The secondary vehicles may include one or more fiducials having visual markings thereon. The visual identifiers are fixed in their orientations with respect to the secondary vehicles, such that positions or orientations of the secondary vehicles may be determined upon detecting the markings within imaging data.

  • Patent number: 10913523
Abstract: An adaptable modular power system (AMPS) is hierarchical in a number of ways. AMPS modules connect to a backplane, and one or multiple AMPS backplanes can form an AMPS domain. At the same time, the vehicle electronics is modular, with various payload boxes needing to communicate with each other. A common power and signaling cable is provided to interconnect payload boxes. A dedicated connector system is also provided so that AMPS modules may communicate, control, receive data, and supply and receive power.

  • Publication number: 20190303856
Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided that integrate data from disparate sources to identify shipment misalignments and display such information in interactive user interfaces. For example, the systems described herein can define various geographic regions using location and census data and identify the defined geographic regions in which stores are located. Using shipment data and micro-market data, the systems described herein can then identify the geographic regions that items are shipped to, identify the demand for such items in the geographic regions, and determine whether the quantity of items shipped to the geographic regions is appropriate based on the demand. Such information can be displayed in an interactive user interface that allows a user to view the geographic clustering of item demand, identify potential opportunities for correcting shipment misalignment, and/or correct identified shipment misalignments.

  • Publication number: 20160050280
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are provided for establishing bidirectional communication among computing devices. In some aspects, a wireless access establishes a communication link with a first computing device. The access point identifies, based on communications between the first computing device and the access point, an application executed on the first computing device. The access point determines that a second computing device that is in communication with the access point can present outputs generated by the application and generate input events usable by the application. The access point transmits a notification to the first computing device that the second computing device is accessible via the access point. The access point can transmit the notification based on determining that the second computing device can present the outputs and generate the input events that are usable by the application.

  • Publication number: 20140283726
Abstract: A modular payload system for an autonomous water vehicle includes a hull formed with a recessed portion that extends longitudinally over a region where a transverse cross section of a lower portion of the recess is constant along the region. A plurality of payload boxes are sized to fit in the recess and be distributed along the longitudinal axis. A transverse cross section of a lower portion of each payload box is configured complementarily with the lower portion of the recess. The payload boxes can be sized so that one payload box has a longitudinal dimension that is an integral multiple of the longitudinal dimension of the second payload box. The payload boxes can have complementarily positioned external electrical connectors to allow a jumper cable to serially connect the payload boxes.

  • Fan
    Patent number: 8435006
Abstract: A fan is disclosed herein. The fan includes a hub portion operable to rotate about an axis. The hub portion extends along the axis between forward and aft ends. The fan also includes at least one platform operably fixed with the hub portion. The at least one platform at least partially encircles the axis. The fan also includes at least one airfoil extending from the at least one platform radially outward relative to the axis between a base and a tip. The at least one platform terminates at forward and aft circumferential edges spaced from one another along the axis. At least one of the forward and aft circumferential edges extends about the axis and along the axis.
