  • Publication number: 20210304264
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the implementation of a pricing structure for the private booking of travel experiences. An experience is offered publicly, so as to be bookable by a plurality of customers, each customer booking a subset of a number of available slots for attendees. A customer may convert the experience from a public experience to a private experience by paying at least a minimum price for the private booking. Where the per person cost would exceed the minimum price, the customer pays an additional per guest value. A plurality of differing pricing rules may be applied in correspondence based on the respective numbers of different types of guests attending the event, or differing date/time instances of the experience.

  • Patent number: 9064161
Abstract: A system and method for detecting the presence of known or unknown objects based on visual features is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the system is a checkout system for detecting items of merchandise on a shopping cart. The merchandise checkout system preferably includes a feature extractor for extracting visual features from a plurality of images; a motion detector configured to detect one or more groups of the visual features present in at least two of the plurality of images; a classifier to classify each of said groups of the visual features based on one or more classification criteria, wherein each of the one or more parameters is associated with one of said groups of visual features; and an alarm configured to generate an alert if the one or more parameters for any of said groups of the visual features satisfy one or more classification criteria.

  • Publication number: 20050207360
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for configuring a transmission mode between devices. A connection is established with a link partner at a common transmission speed. A duplex mode is set to a first duplex mode. A transmission error rate is monitored with the link partner and the duplex mode is changed to a second duplex mode in response to detecting that the transmission error rate exceeds a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20050055456
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for managing data transmissions at a local network device communicating with a linked network device over a network, wherein each network device is capable of transmitting data at different speeds. An operation is initiated to change a current transmission speed at which data is transmitted between the local and linked network devices in response to a speed change event. A determination is made of a new transmission speed different from the current transmission speed. A register is set in the local network device to indicate the new transmission speed. A speed change request and the new transmission speed are transmitted to the linked network device to cause the local and linked network devices to communicate at the new transmission speed, wherein the transmission occurs without terminating a linked exchange occurring between the local and linked network devices.
