  • Patent number: 8539976
Abstract: A back pressure valve for providing a double barrier to flow for use with a tubing hanger within a well bore, wherein the back pressure valve can have a first body piece threadably engaged and sealed with a second body piece. A first piston can engage a first surface for sealing bottom pressure to provide a first barrier to flow. A second piston can engage a second surface for redundantly sealing bottom pressure to provide a second barrier to flow. The back pressure valve can have one-way and two-way back pressure valve assemblies. The two-way back pressure valve assembly can include a bidirectional piston having a double sealing face for engaging sealing surfaces and sealing bottom pressure from the well bore while allowing testing without stopping a flow of fluid.

  • Patent number: 8522864
Abstract: A stripper blow out preventer for oil field equipment, wherein the stripper blow out preventer can include a housing with a bore. The housing can have an open port and close port for accepting the hydraulic fluid, and a grease port for accepting grease. An annular recess of the housing can be in communication with the bore. A retainer ring can be engaged in the annular recess. A piston can be disposed in the annular recess. A seal element can be disposed in the annular recess between the retainer ring and the piston, and can have a thru bore. An insert can be engaged with the retainer ring. When the close port is pressurized, the piston can press against the seal element to form a seal against the oil field equipment. When the open port is pressurized, the piston can move to relax the seal element.

  • Patent number: 8109330
Abstract: An angled or inline choke for flowing drilling fluid to a choke and kill manifold, wherein the choke has a body with a bore, a connection can be sealed to the body and can have a connection bore in communication with the bore. A locking plate can index the connection to the body. The choke can have a cavity with a piston. A port can be in communication with the cavity to provide a hydraulic fluid to the piston. A choke bean in the bore can flow drilling fluid to the choke and kill manifold. A tip can connect to the choke bean with a rod. When the hydraulic fluid passes into the port, the piston can move within the bore and compress a choke element around the tip to cause restriction of the drilling fluid, enabling for control of a pressure of the drilling fluid.

Abstract: The idea behind this patent filing is to have the ability to track currency. The idea has a use at both the local economy as well as at the federal government level. At the local level, an example of the idea would be a chain store, such as a WAWA or 7-11 chain. The chain head quarters in most cases are located in a city other than the store location. All daily reports are transmitted to the corp. office at the time of closing or during the next business day. With this idea, a corp. can pull reports in REAL TIME, know the amount of cash taken in during any given time of the day, and know exactly what amount of currency should be deposited into the bank account. Another benefit to the home office is the info about the time of day and days of the week the store is doing the most business and will have the info needed to staff that location to support the flow of customers.

  • Patent number: 7323980
Abstract: A security alarm system that provides secure, realtime video and/or other realtime imagery of a secured location to one or more emergency response agencies over a high-speed communications link, such as an Internet link. Realtime video and/or realtime imagery, along with other useful information is therefore placed directly into the hands of those who are called upon and trained to respond to a potential emergency. As such, the emergency response agencies and their personnel are better informed. This, in turn, allows the personnel to be better prepared in their response to potential emergencies or acts of terrorism, saving manpower, money, lives and reducing the number of false alarms.

  • Patent number: 5735336
Abstract: The investment casting process utilizes an investment assembly that includes one or more vents in each casting mold. Vents facilitate the extraction of the pattern material while preventing expansion of the pattern material to the extent that mold fracture or cracking results. The vents can be formed by incorporating within the patterns of articles to be cast one or more protrusions that cause the pattern to deviate from the size and shape of the article to be cast. After assembly of one or more patterns to a riser to form a cluster, the cluster is coated with a refractory material and the refractory material is removed from the protrusions either before the refractory dries or after the refractory dries, thus producing the vents.

  • Patent number: 5048591
Abstract: During the casting of reactive metals, the depletion of reactive elements from molten metal in an article mold cavity is prevented by blocking a feeder passage after filling an article mold cavity with the molten metal. To block the feeder passage, a valve member is floated on the molten metal. As the level of the molten metal rises, the valve member moves into sealing engagement with a valve seat. To make a mold structure containing the valve member, the valve member is positioned in a pattern of the mold structure. After covering the pattern with ceramic mold material, the pattern is removed to leave the valve member in the mold structure.

  • Patent number: 5046547
Abstract: An improved method of casting provides for the blocking of the upper end portion of a mold structure during preheating of the mold structure in a furnace and/or withdrawal of the mold structure from the furnace. The mold structure is raised into a furnace chamber with a cover blocking the upper end portion of the mold structure. In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, the cover moves upwardly through the furnace chamber to a location immediately above an upper sidewall of the furnace chamber. When the mold has been preheated, the cover is removed and molten metal is pored into the mold structure. The cover is then replaced on the mold structure. The molten metal in the mold structure is solidified by slowly withdrawing the mold structure from the furnace chamber with the cover blocking the upper end portion of the mold structure. Once the mold structure has been completely withdrawn from the furnace chamber and the molten metal in the mold structure has solidified, the cover is removed.

  • Patent number: 4018189
Abstract: A retractable leash for dogs and other pets. A casing is fastened to a dog collar and remains connected thereto during periods when the animal is not being walked. A rotatable reel is supported in the casing and a flexible leash is wound about the reel. One end of the leash is externally accessible of the casing by connection to a handle. A spring engages both the reel and the casing and tightly coils in response to the unwinding of the leash. A removable cover on one side of the casing facilitates servicing, the cover being locked closed by the attachment to the animal's collar.
