  • Patent number: 4732229
Abstract: An apparatus is described for heating and cooling a truck cab through the utilization of an auxiliary water cooled engine mounted on the truck. The auxiliary engine has an airconditioner compressor mounted thereon which supplies refrigerant to a condensor which is operatively connected to the air-conditioner evaporator on the primary engine of the truck so that the interior of the truck cab may be cooled without running the primary truck engine. The hot coolant water in the auxiliary engine is fluidly connected to the heater core of the truck heating system so that the interior of the cab may be heated without operating the primary truck engine. An alternator is mounted on the auxiliary engine and is electrically connected to the truck electrical system.

  • Patent number: 4728140
Abstract: A vertically adjustable mast is removably positioned behind the cab of the truck which is to be towed. The lower end of the mast is mounted on the frame members of the truck frame. A pair of wing members are pivotally mounted on the upper end of the mast to permit the wing members to be folded into an inoperative position or folded outwardly to an operative position. A flexible, substantially wedge-shaped air deflector is operatively secured to the upper end of the mast and extends rearwardly and downwardly therefrom for connection to the truck so that air will be prevented from entering into the interior of the drag reducer mounted on the truck roof when the truck is being towed rearwardly.

  • Patent number: 4726346
Abstract: A device for heating the fuel in a diesel fuel tank is described comprising a collar having a tubular member extending downwardly therefrom and thence laterally therefrom. The tubular member may either be connected to the water manifold of the truck so that hot water is passed therethrough or may have an electric heating element mounted therein. The device is installed on the tank by simply securing the collar to the filler neck of the tank and then closing the upper end of the collar with a cap.
