  • Patent number: 4481728
Abstract: An adapter tip assembly wherein the nose of the adapter which is received in a tip socket has a circular rear base joined to an ellipsoidal portion which tapers to an elliptical front end such that the external front surface of the tip has a wider horizontal dimension than vertical dimension and the tip is retained on the nose by a retaining pin; the front end ellipse is diminished by upper and lower rearwardly extending flat surfaces and these surfaces merge into upwardly and rearwardly angled surfaces which in turn merge into the ellipsoidal portion.

  • Patent number: 4446638
Abstract: An adapter-tip retainer pin has a wedge member and a lock member joined by a first pair of walls on a resilient member. The resilient member includes a central cavity and a second pair of walls which are curved inwardly toward the cavity such that the second pair of walls collapse inwardly when the retainer pin is compressed during insertion or removal from an adapter-tip assembly.

  • Patent number: 4176391
Abstract: A shock isolating lamp assembly for a vehicle lamp including an improved shock isolating mounting is provided. The assembly includes a lamp housing for receiving a lens and a shock isolating mount of a resilient material including a central body portion formed with a vertical opening for receiving a lamp socket and two opposed pairs of parallel arms symmetrical to the center line extending outwardly from the body in a plane. The arms are spaced apart a distance approximately the diameter of the lamp socket. Each pair of arms is joined to a perpendicular mounting bar of the same resilient material which cooperates with a pair of opposed mounting tracks extending into the lamp housing. The lamp socket is substantially tubular, open at the top and bottom end and formed with a pair of opposed barbs for engagement by a pair of opposed recesses formed in the inner wall of the mount body portion for retaining the socket therein.

  • Patent number: 4102443
Abstract: A mechanism for mounting a brake disc on a rotatable member using a plurality of mounting bolts, which mechanism includes a mounting ring secured against radial movement and interposed between the bolts and the disc which permits radial expansion of the disc without transmitting the disc movement to the mounting bolts.
