  • Patent number: 5188528
Abstract: A method for forming an insulation lining of abutting modules in a high temperature chamber. The method comprises forming a modular fiber blanket surrounded by a retaining means to maintain the module in a pleated configuration. A plurality of hanger means cooperate with a support portion and an elongated prong means. The prong means is inserted into the hanger means and through the pleated body to form a plurality of modules. A surface is provided on the support part for engaging the prongs of an adjacent module to stabilize the module and ensure that the modules are accurately located and maintained in operative position on the interior surface of the high temperature chamber.

  • Patent number: 5067420
Abstract: An insulation lining is formed of abutting modules. Each module includes a fiber blanket surrounded by a combustible sheet of material which compresses the fibers and holds the blanket in folded position. A hanger has spaced prongs extending from a support part which is disposed at one side of the module. The prongs pass through the blanket and extend beyond the opposite side of the module. A surface is provided on the support part for directly engaging the prongs of an adjacent module to stabilize adjacent modules and ensure that they are accurately located and maintained in operative position.

  • Patent number: 4949653
Abstract: An incinerator and recyclable material recovery apparatus and method for processing refuse. An incineration means is disclosed for loading and shaping a refuse mass on a refractory transport means and conveying the refuse mass through an incinerator to achieve ecologically acceptable combustion of combustible materials, melting and selective separation of metallic and glass components of the refuse mass and removal of non-combustible materials. The novel method and apparatus provides a refuse mass transport means having means to allow removal of water from the refuse mass during the pre-heat and combustion stages of incineration and provides a means to selectively remove glass and metallic portions of the refuse mass as the melting temperature of these materials are reached during the incineration process.

  • Patent number: 4336086
Abstract: A method of lining an interior surface of a furnace with roll-type insulation by attaching a plurality of hooks onto the interior surface to be lined, folding back portions of the roll-type insulation on themselves to create folds in the roll-type insulation, and pressing the folds onto the hooks to thereby attach the roll-type insulation to the interior surface. Each of the plurality of hooks includes a hook member for passage through portions of the roll-type insulation. Each hook member is fixedly attached to the interior surface of the furnace either by being welded directly thereto when the interior surface of the furnace is metal or by being fixedly attached to a plate member which is in turn bolted, riveted, or otherwise fixedly attached to the interior surface of the furnace. The hook member includes a leg portion having a pointed first end for passage through the roll-type insulation and having a second end.
