  • Patent number: 4996031
Abstract: A catalyst undercoat (wash-coat) material comprising a plurality of stable, highly porous, co-precipitated agglomerated microcrystalline comprised of integral admixture of alumina and at least one lanthanide. The co-precipitated material may be converted to a slurry and used as an undercoat or wash-coat atop a prefabricated low surface area support. Alternatively, the co-precipitated material may be compressed or extruded into various geometric forms and these can be used as a support and as such serve both as the support and the undercoat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 15, 1989
Date of Patent: February 26, 1991
    Assignee: Rhone-Poulenc Inc.
Inventors: James P. Spooner, Alvin B. Stiles
