  • Publication number: 20260071923
Abstract: Embodiments of a force sensor for a textile are provided where the sensor comprises: a tube having a compression portion and a transmission portion extending from the compression portion, the compression portion being routed into a sensing area fill geometry configured to receive a force applied to the textile in which the tube is embedded, the transmission portion comprised of a compression-resistant material, and the compression portion comprised of a compressible material; an electronic pressure sensing element fluidly coupled to the tube and spaced from the compression portion by the transmission portion, the electronic pressure sensing element configured to measure pressure exerted on the compression portion through the textile; and a fluid within the tube.

  • Publication number: 20240374211
Abstract: A wearable system (100) for tracking hand and wrist motion and forces includes a wearable pod (102) configured to be worn on a wrist or a back of a hand. the pod including: a sensor (104) configured to output a movement and an orientation measurement of the wrist or hand: a haptic feedback device (106) configured to provide sensory feedback to the hand or wrist: a processor (108) in communication with the at least one sensor and the haptic feedback device. the processor configured to determine whether the hand is in a neutral position based on the movement and orientation measurement of the wrist or hand and output a haptic feedback signal to the haptic feedback device based on the determination of whether the hand is in a neutral position: and a memory in communication with the processor and configured to record measurements from the sensors as measurement data.

  • Publication number: 20210251317
Abstract: Provided among other things are a fabric supported glove with a polymer coating with a palm dip, wherein (a) a grip inside surface of the glove having in-grip features at selective locations for promoting in-grip, or (b) a friction- or tack-providing polymer coating is provided on all or a portion of the grip inside surface to provide in-grip features, or (c) wherein the polymer coating is provided with a first lower viscosity polymer composition that provides limited strike-through in-grip features and a second higher viscosity polymer composition that provides an exterior gripping surface, or (d) non-parallel primary ridges in the fabric provide in-grip features, or (e) two or more of (a) through (d) applies, wherein the in-grip features comprise locations at the finger tips and on the palm of the hand configured to reduce inside slippage of the glove in gripping a representative cylinder.
