  • Patent number: 11280124
Abstract: Locking hinge apparatus for aircraft doors are disclosed. An example locking hinge apparatus includes a hinge base to couple to a frame of an aircraft. A hinge gooseneck is to pivotally couple a door to the hinge base. The hinge gooseneck is to allow the door to move between a closed position and an open position relative to the frame. A lever is pivotally coupled to the hinge base. The lever is to pivot relative to the hinge base between a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction. The lever includes a lock to engage a portion of the hinge gooseneck to prevent rotational movement of the door relative to the frame when the door is in the open position. A biasing element is to urge the lever in the first rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 10472041
Abstract: An aircraft includes a first structure between a pressure-controlled region of the aircraft and a non-pressure-controlled region of the aircraft and a second structure between the non-pressure-controlled region and an exterior of the aircraft. The aircraft also includes a first door assembly that includes a first door configured to cover a first opening between the pressure-controlled region and the non-pressure-controlled region and a second door configured to cover a second opening between the non-pressure-controlled region and the exterior. The aircraft further includes a spring coupled, via a first member, to the first door assembly and coupled, via a mechanical linkage, to the second door. The spring is configured to apply a first force to the first member and to apply a second force, via the mechanical linkage, to the second door, where the second force is applied based on a state of the first door assembly.

  • Patent number: 9416569
Abstract: A latch assembly may be configured for use with a first structure having an outer surface and a second structure that is movable relative to the first structure. The latch assembly may include a latch member and a visual indicator device. The latch member may be movable into and out of a latching position securing the second structure to the first structure. The visual indicator device may be movable between a retracted position not protruding outward from the outer surface of the first structure and an extended position protruding outward from the outer surface. A linkage may be operatively connected between the latch member and the visual indicator device to move the visual indicator device from the retracted position to the extended position under the influence of the latch member when the latch member is moved out of the latching position.
