Patent number: 11981714Abstract: The present invention pertains to the nanoencapsulation of siRNA and other biologics in phospholipid nanosomes for the improved delivery of siRNA and other biologics to targeted diseased human or animal organs and human or animal cells and apparatus and methods for making the same. In embodiments of the present invention, novel siRNAs were designed to down regulate CCR5 and CD4, based on an analysis of all known alternative transcripts for each gene from both human and monkey (Macaca mulatta) genomes. Embodiments of the present invention feature supercritical, critical and near critical fluids. Embodiments of the present invention also pertain to down regulation of CXCR4 receptor and targeting of nanosomes containing specific siRNA sequences to cells expressing those receptors on the cell surface by coating them with specific ligands. These include ligands for the receptors CCR5, CD4 and CXCR4.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2020Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Inventors: Trevor Percival Castor, Vasudevacharya Jayarama, James A McSwiggen

Publication number: 20060294318Abstract: The cache keeps regularly accessed disk I/O data within RAM that forms part of a computer systems main memory. The cache operates across a network of computers systems, maintaining cache coherency for the disk I/O devices that are shared by the multiple computer systems within that network. Read access for disk I/O data that is contained within the RAM is returned much faster than would occur if the disk I/O device was accessed directly. The data is held in one of three areas of the RAM for the cache, dependent on the size of the I/O access. The total RAM containing the three areas for the cache does not occupy a fixed amount of a computers main memory. The RAM for the cache grows to contain more disk I/O data on demand and shrinks when more of the main memory is required by the computer system for other uses.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2006Publication date: December 28, 2006Inventor: James Percival

Patent number: 6261097Abstract: The proposal is for a holding element (100) which can be screwed into the internally threaded bore (14) of the implant (1) even during production of the latter and can thus be used to grip or hold the implant for the following production phases. Furthermore, the holding element (100) serves to fix an implant (1), which is screwed thereto, inside an ampoule (200) and for the application of a screwing-in tool for implantation. The particular feature of the ampoule (200) lies in the fact that it has a large-area, lateral cutout (231) in the casing and also a fixing part (210) for accommodating the holding element (100) in a clamped manner. The implant (1) can thus be pulled laterally out of the ampoule (200). The devices facilitate handling of the implant (1) during production and insertion into the bone.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2000Date of Patent: July 17, 2001Assignee: Institut Straumann AGInventors: Werner Schmutz, James Percival Simpson

Patent number: 4121568Abstract: The specification teaches a system for collecting heat energy from solar radiation to heat a liquid medium. The system includes a solar radiation collector plate which has its rear face adapted to cause a liquid medium to be in direct thermal contact with the rear face of the plate while flowing over and covering essentially all of the rear face. According to one important aspect of the invention, the rear face is provided with a material having capillary attraction properties to spread a liquid medium across essentially all of the rear face of the plate so that the liquid medium absorbs large amounts of heat energy from the collector plate.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1976Date of Patent: October 24, 1978Inventor: James Percival Olsen
