  • Publication number: 20090145190
Abstract: Methods for improving plant growth and maintenance of drip irrigation systems are provided through the use of novel fertilizing solutions. The inventive method provides the plant with irrigating solution enriched with air, ozone, oxygen, and nitrogen oxides ions within a prescribed range. A gaseous mixture of negatively charged ionized air including from about 50 parts per million to about 4,000 parts per million ozone, from about 1,000 parts per million to 20,000 parts per million oxygen ions, and from 2,000 to about 50,000 parts per million nitrogen oxides is produced from ambient air. Thereafter, the gaseous mixture is directly contacted with water at the rate of from 0.1 cfm to about 2.0 cfm per 100 gpm of water to form a fertilizing solution containing nitrate ions in a concentration of at least 0.3 ppm by weight and containing ozone in a concentrate of at least 0.2 ppm.

  • Patent number: 7162976
Abstract: An improved method is provided for treatment of feed water for livestock and other animals to reduce bacterial contamination while at the same time improving live performance. A gaseous mixture comprising ozone and oxygen gas is produced from ambient air and directly contacted with a supply of water to produce a solution of gaseous mixture. This contact step is continued until the content of ozone in the water supply is within a range of from about 5 parts per million to about 20 parts per million, and the content of oxygen is between about 80% and 97% of saturation. Thereafter, the resultant water product is directed for use as feed water to livestock or other animals to be treated.

  • Patent number: 6357175
Abstract: Unique methods for improving growth and maintenance of warm and cool season grasses are provided by treatment with prescribed irrigation solutions to improve water penetration and to increase soil oxygen, while, at the same time reducing water usage and inhibiting pathogens. In a presently preferred embodiment, the inventive method comprises the steps of producing a gaseous mixture of negatively charged ionized air including from about 50 parts per million to about 4,000 parts per million ozone, from about 1,000 parts per million to 20,000 parts per million oxygen ions, and from 2,000 to about 50,000 parts per million nitrogen oxides from ambient air; effecting direct contact between the ionized air gaseous mixture and a supply of water by means of a submicron injector to produce a substantially dissolved gaseous solution for irrigation of a wide variety of warm and cool season grasses.

  • Patent number: 5989439
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for treatment of feed water for swine to reduce odor and water pollution arising from lagoon slurry while at the same time improving live performance and carcass data. The inventive method comprises the steps of a) producing a gaseous mixture supply of ozone and oxygen gas from ambient air; b) effecting directing contact between said gaseous mixture derived from step (a) with a supply of water by means of a venturi injector device to produce a solution of said gaseous mixture and said supply of water; c) continuing said contact between said gaseous mixture and said water supply until the content of ozone in said water supply is within a range of from about 0.5 parts per million to about 10 parts per million, and the content of oxygen is about 80-97% saturation; and d) providing the resultant water supply from step (c) for use as feed water to swine.

  • Patent number: 5697187
Abstract: The present invention provides a unique method and apparatus for improving crop yield through the use of an inventive irrigation solution to inhibit surface pathogens, improved water penetration and increase crop production and market quality. In a presently preferred embodiment, the inventive method comprises the steps of producing a gaseous mixture of ionized air including from about 50 parts per million to about 4,000 parts per million ozone, from about 1,000 parts per million to 20,000 parts per million oxygen, and from 1,100 to about 25,000 parts per million oxygen ions from ambient air; effecting direct contact between the ionized air gaseous mixture and a supply of water by means of a submicron injector to produce a gaseous solution for treatment of irrigation water to be applied to agricultural crops. Accordingly, by treating the crops during irrigation the inventive process is successful in stopping surface fungus and molds on plants above ground.
