  • Patent number: 7909243
Abstract: A system and method for completing a financial transaction using a wireless communication device is provided. A transaction authorization request is sent from the device to an issuer using SMS. An authentication message is sent from the issuer to the device, and a response is sent by a user of the device to confirm the identity of the user. Once the identity of the user is verified, a surrogate account number, in a bar code format, is sent to the mobile communication device to be read by a POS device to complete the financial transaction. A computer program product enabling the systems and methods described is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070175986
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for authenticating a requestor using a previously-stored biometric print. Records are stored in a database, where each record contains a previously-stored biometric print corresponding to an individual and is disassociated from an identity of the individual. An identifier and a biometric sample are requested from the requester. The identifier is then used to locate one of the plurality of records corresponding to the requestor. The requestor is authenticated if the biometric sample matches the previously-stored biometric print.

  • Publication number: 20060202001
Abstract: A method and system for heating a circuit board component to an approximately uniform temperature sufficient to reflow the connections between the circuit board component and the circuit board. The method and system include a supplemental gas heater having a diffuser plate. The circuit board is placed against the diffuser plate and heated gas is channeled through openings in the diffuser plate into vias in the circuit board to heat a circuit board component connected on the opposite side of the circuit board. Heated gas can be channeled through selected vias towards predetermined areas and/or specified connections such as towards those areas or connections where there is a temperature differential greater than approximately 10 degrees Celsius compared to other areas or connections across the circuit board component. Hot gas can be channeled through selected vias by baffling or patterning the diffuser plate, accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20060163330
Abstract: Disclosed are a tool and a procedure for flattening a site on a printed circuit board. The tool comprises three sections: a nozzle, a throat and a flattening block. The nozzle connects the tool to a hot air source and receives hot air from said source, and the throat is connected to the nozzle section for receiving the hot air from the nozzle section. The flattening block has a generally planar bottom surface for engaging a site on a printed circuit board. The flattening block forms a vent for venting the hot air from the flattening block to the ambient to help maintain said site at an approximately constant temperature when said bottom surface engages said site. A resilient mechanism is mounted on the throat section, for forcing said bottom surface against said site, with a constant, known force.

  • Publication number: 20050251573
Abstract: The present invention facilitates the dynamic provisioning of computing and data assets in a commodity computing environment. The invention provides a system and method for dynamically provisioning and deprovisioning computing resources based on multi-dimensional decision criteria. By employing specialized computing components configured to assess an asset and requestor of an asset, a provisioning engine is able to transform the input from the computing components into a specific configuration of computing resource provisioning and security controls. According to the rules and policies applying to a security domain, the provisioning engine may dynamically allocate computing resources in a manner that is both safe and efficient for the asset.
