  • Publication number: 20160193645
Abstract: A ceramic refractory insulation block for a hot press is provided that is reinforced in a manner that reduces the likelihood of cracking and, once cracked, reduces the rate at which the crack will propagate through the ceramic refractory insulation block. The ceramic refractory insulation block includes a ceramic body defining a plurality of outer surfaces. Each of the surfaces is a planar surface. The ceramic body also defines a centerline about which the ceramic body is subjected to a bending moment. The ceramic refractory insulation body also includes a plurality of reinforcing rods extending through the ceramic body. The reinforcing rods have a greater flexural strength than the ceramic body. One or more of the plurality of reinforcing rods extend through the ceramic body on each of the opposed sides of the centerline about which the ceramic body is subjected to the bending moment.

  • Publication number: 20100216802
Abstract: Compound of formula (I) are inhibitors of Polo-like kinases (PLKs), and are useful in treatment of cell proliferative diseases: wherein R1 and R2 are hydrogen, or an optionally substituted (C1-C6)alkyl, (C2-C6)alkenyl, (C2-C6)alkynyl or (C3-C6)cycloalkyl group; R3 and R3? are independently selected from hydrogen, —CN, hydroxyl, halogen, optionally substituted (C1-C6)alkyl, (C2-C6)alkenyl, (C2-C6)alkynyl or (C3-C6)cycloalkyl, —NR5R6 or C1-C4 alkoxy, wherein R5 and R6 are independently hydrogen or optionally substituted (C1-C6)alkyl; ring A is an optionally substituted mono- or bi-cyclic carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring or a ring system having up to 12 ring atoms; T is a radical of formula R-L1-Y1— wherein R is an alpha amino acid or alpha amino acid ester motif, linked to ring A by linker R-L1-Y1— as defined in the claims.

  • Publication number: 20080037825
Abstract: A geographic information system digitally watermarks by modifying pixels from a source image with additional spatial and non-spatial information for a destination image. When an image is digitally watermarked, the pixels of the image are modified to include an embedded redundant pattern that is imperceptible to viewers of the image. The redundant pattern of changes from the “digital watermark” can be converted back into a payload containing meaningful data, and in some examples into unique identifiers. The payload is arranged to link the image to additional information such as copyright information, geospatial data, and related applications and services. Since the payload is embedded within the pixels of the image, no additional storage space is required, and the information is arranged to survive various image manipulations that might be employed by a user such as: translation of image formats, rotation, scaling, cropping, printing and scanning, and many other image processes.
