  • Publication number: 20120307070
Abstract: A digital surveillance method in which the output signal of a camera is highly compressed, to the extent that the compressed signal can be sent over relatively low bandwidth wireless networks, such as cellular networks. The compressed signal is then uploaded to the wireless network from where it can be relayed to a server, such as an internet server, from where it can be accessed, viewed, manipulated and further used by authorized personnel. Such authorized personnel need not be proximate to the surveillance equipment at all. The digital surveillance system can include fixed cameras mounted in fixed orientations and the signals of the various fixed cameras can be integrated into a wide view, as well as used as individual narrow views. These views are wirelessly communicated to an internet server from where they can be accessed, viewed, manipulated and further used by authorized personnel.

  • Patent number: 8141444
Abstract: A reciprocating shaft assembly in a reciprocating saw moves in a reciprocal motion and drives a saw blade via a blade holder. At least one bore is formed in an end of the reciprocating shaft assembly opposite the blade holder. A pin fixed to the saw passes through the bore and acts as a bearing to support the reciprocating shaft assembly in its reciprocating motion.

  • Publication number: 20090157775
Abstract: A method of archiving a set of source tables in a database system. Each source table has a plurality of rows. Initially, a consistency point for the set of source tables is established. The database system creates a log record for each change (insert, modify, or delete) effected to a row of the source tables subsequent to the consistency point. Substantially all source table rows are copied to an archive (a data storage object that is external to the database system). Then the accumulated log records for the affected source tables are distilled and appended to the archive.

  • Publication number: 20080024961
Abstract: An improved PDA-like electronic device includes a housing having a display screen on the front and a battery positioned along the edge or side of the housing, to allow the battery to be removed and replaced without requiring access to the back of the housing. The housing includes a curved back portion to conform generally to the user's body, such as the user's arm. By placing the battery along the side or edge of the housing, the battery can be accessed without removing the battery from the user's body.

  • Publication number: 20080017678
Abstract: A pouch forms a cavity for holding a portable electronic device, a front panel of the pouch defines a viewing opening through which a display screen of the electronic device can be viewed during use, and an adjustable strap or other arm-mounting coupling is used to secure the pouch and the electronic device to a user's arm. A cover panel extends from the pouch and can be moved from a closed position covering and protecting the display screen to an open position exposing the display screen for viewing during use. In a parked open position the cover is held in place with the display screen exposed for use.

  • Patent number: 7272618
Abstract: A system and method for determining information for system components includes a database, an interchanger subsystem, and a product selection subsystem. The database includes information concerning components. An interchanger subsystem receives product parameters from a selected one of the plurality of users. The product parameters specify features of a component. The interchanger subsystem determines a list of interchangeable substitute components from the information in the database. The product selection subsystem receives component information from a selected one of the plurality of users and determines a range of product offerings from the information in the database.

  • Patent number: 6966846
Abstract: A conventional length golf club with a grip including a heavy counterweight, the mass of which is sufficient to cause the center of gravity of the whole golf club to be located within the boundaries of the grip. The counterweight may be an elongated member with a bore through its interior, and in order to achieve the object of placing the center of gravity within the boundaries of the grip, it must have a substantially larger cross-section than the standard-diameter shaft of a golf club. The grip may include a lower support section made of a substantially less massive material than the counterweight. In a preferred embodiment, the grip has an elliptical cross section with the major axis of the ellipse perpendicular to the face of the club head.
