Abstract: A system and method for automatically opening a heat bonded connection site between two conjoined tubing segments of a medical fluid path is provided. A pair of rollers is utilized to draw the connection site of the conjoined tubing segments between the rollers to compress the connection site with sufficient force to open the connection site. A guide in the form of an elongated groove is provided in a support surface of the system that properly aligns the seal line axis of the conjoined tubing segments relative to the rollers.

Abstract: A method for generating and maintaining hierarchical tags with community-based ratings is provided. Tags for media streams are organized into a hierarchical format. Users may select tags from the hierarchical tag database that describes a particular multimedia content. If the user is unable to locate a desired tag, the user may submit a new tag. Upon submission of the new tag, a librarian approves the tag before storing and placing the tag in the hierarchical tag database. Users are also able to rate the quality of the association between the tag and the multimedia content. If a tag is rated low, the tag may be removed from the hierarchical tag database. If the tag is rated highly, display of the tag in a list of tags becomes more prominent.

Abstract: Systems and methods facilitate sensing and tallying defecation events of subjects, such as participants in clinical trials for treatments for treating digestive diseases, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and chronic constipation. Systems and methods may also be used by individual patients for sensing and tallying defecation events, and resulting data may be reviewed by a healthcare provider when evaluating patient gastrointestinal health and/or treatments.

Abstract: There is provided a mount and a case for attaching a mobile device to a further object. The mount comprises first and second coupling members and a body having a front face between the coupling members and that faces the case when the mount is attached to the case. The first and second coupling members define an undercut, for receiving part of the case. The case has an attachment for attaching the case to the mobile device, a cover for covering part of the mobile device, first and second openings in the cover, and first and second overhangs that define undercuts in the cover for mating with corresponding respective overhangs of the mount.

Abstract: A drain gun includes a handle and a trigger. The handle includes a channel and a plurality of inlets. The inlets feed the channel. The trigger causes a staged release of a plurality of fluids from a plurality of cartridges to the channel via the inlets when the cartridges are stored in the handle and feeding the inlets.

The butt retrieval system includes a butt retrieval receptacle moveable between a butt retrieving position and a butt unloading position. The butt retrieval receptable has a cantilevered arm extending from a base portion of the butt retrieval receptacle in a direction towards the centerline of the associated extrusion press.

The elongated member and the cable cooperate to support the broken bone as an implant splint.

Abstract: A pet ventilation panel for a vehicle window opening is disclosed. The vehicle window opening is typically defined by a retractable windowpane movable within a window frame having upper, lower and opposed side frame members. The ventilation panel includes a selectively removable window insert formed from a single sheet of material. The insert has an upper edge adapted for engagement with an upper frame member of a vehicle window frame, and side edges adapted for engagement with side frame members of the vehicle window frame to cover at least a portion of the vehicle window opening. A central opening is defined by a continuous edge in the insert. The opening is sized and shaped to permit penetration thereof by the head of an animal disposed within the vehicle without permitting passage of the animal's body therethrough to prevent inadvertent escape from the vehicle by the animal. A mechanism is provided for maintaining the insert in position within the vehicle window opening.
