  • Patent number: 10735557
Abstract: Method, apparatus and computer program product embodiments are provided for distributing and installing content and settings on client devices without receiving any user input at the client devices, which limit usage of the client device a user at the client device to a first set of the usage activities. A device controller may remotely configure and control client devices by providing instructions and content for distribution to the client devices. The instructions may cause the client devices to install the content on the client devices without requiring any user input to initiate the installation or during installation of the content. The client device may be further configured to allow management of the client device by the device controller.

  • Patent number: 10648427
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a thrust reverser for a gas turbine engine. As a translating cowl is translated aft from the nacelle of the gas turbine engine, a cascade is also translated in the aft direction and a blocker door coupled to the cascade is pivoted into a fan duct by means of a camming surface, thereby diverting air in the fan duct through the cascade. In the stowed position, both the cascade and the blocker door are disposed radially outward of a radially inner wall of the nacelle and/or the translating cowl.

  • Publication number: 20200057815
Abstract: An image-based item identifying system and method including a mobile device hosting an application software in communication with a server via a communication network and a database on the server. The mobile device having a built-in camera is configured to capture a digital image of an object. The digital image of the object is submitted or uploaded to a search engine on the server to be analyzed. The application software then analyzes and matches the object included in the digital image with a stored object identifier of the object. Information regarding a captured the object is transmitted to a user and displayed on a display of the mobile device. The system allows a user to identify an object in real-time and learn about the object.

  • Patent number: 9187965
Abstract: A method associated with the selection of tubulars for hydrocarbon production is described based upon evaluating the performance limits of threaded connections. Constituents of an evaluation group of threaded connections are determined and then a first group of the connections is evaluated via model analysis over a range of conditions. Then, physical testing on a first group of threaded connections in the evaluation group is conducted over that range of conditions. Once modeled, the results from the physical testing and the modeling analysis of the first group are compared to assess a characteristic performance factor for the first group. A second group of threaded connections are determined and the assessed performance factor from the first group is applied to a second group, and the performance limits of the second group are defined over the range of conditions based on this characteristic performance factor, without requiring testing the second group.

  • Patent number: 8672436
Abstract: A system and method is provided for compensating for a faulty ink jet in a target printhead in an ink jet imaging system having a plurality of printheads arranged to span a maximum printing width that includes defining a typical printing width less than the maximum printing width and swapping the target printhead with a printhead situated in the margin outside the typical printing width. The system and method permits swapping the target printhead with a margin printhead that has a faulty ink jet provided that the location of the faulty ink jet in the margin printhead does not coincide or align with a faulty ink jet in printheads adjacent the target printhead.

  • Publication number: 20140031665
Abstract: A system and method for determining endoscopic dimensional measurements including a projector assembly comprising a light source for projecting light through a telecentric lens and into a surgical site, and a mask coupled to the projector assembly. Light projected from the light source projects through the mask. The projected light through the mask may be a collimated pattern which does not significantly change in size as a function of the distance to a projected plane. The projected light patterns may include multiple wavelengths of light for measurements of different features of tissue and may be produced using a laser in conjunction with a light shaping optical diffuser, or using a light emitting diode in conjunction with a light shaping optical diffuser, or using a spatial filter. The projected light patterns may take the form of concentric rings with each ring representing a radius of a given dimension.
