Patent number: 11925561Abstract: There are provided herein methods and products resulting therefrom. The methods include attaching a pre-fabricated porous ingrowth structure to a substrate by applying heat, or creating and bonding an in-situ-formed porous ingrowth structure from beads on a substrate by applying heat. In some embodiments, an oxidized metal surface of the substrate is diffusion hardened during the heating process. In some embodiments, a vacuum is applied during the heating process. In some embodiments, pressure is applied during the heating process. Also provided herein are assemblies for compressing the pre-fabricated porous ingrowth structure or the beads onto the substrate during the heating process.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2022Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignees: Smith & Nephew, Inc., Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics AG, Smith & Nephew Asia Pacific Pte. Publication number: 20150363275Abstract: A technique for cloud infrastructure backup in a virtualized environment utilizing shared storage includes obtaining a workload input/output (I/O) profile to the shared storage over a time period. An attempt to locate one or more time windows in the workload I/O profile for which a cloud infrastructure backup can be staged is initiated. In response to determining the cloud infrastructure backup can be staged during at least one of the time windows, staging of the cloud infrastructure backup is scheduled during a selected one of the time windows. In response to determining the cloud infrastructure backup cannot be staged during at least one of the time windows, an interference tolerance approach is employed for accessing the shared storage for active workloads and the cloud infrastructure backup during the staging of the cloud infrastructure backup.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2014Publication date: December 17, 2015Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: EDWARD RAYMOND BERNAL, RAHUL GHOSH, IVAN M. Patent number: 8200845Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for communications between web service applications and web services are described. A first interface is coupled between the application and a messaging system. A second interface is coupled between the messaging system and the web service. The first interface is configured to receive a web service request from the application, to format the web service request into a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) request message, to include the SOAP request message in a first electronic message, and to transmit the first electronic message to the messaging system. The messaging system is configured to receive the first electronic message at a first node, to transmit the first electronic message across a communications network to a second node, and to couple the first electronic message from the second node to the second interface.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2006Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: iAnywhere Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Eihab Abouzour, Andrew James Quick, Geno Coschi
