  • Patent number: 12134597
Abstract: A method for producing an aqueous equilibrium peroxylactic acid solution by reaction mixing lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, water, one or more optional acid catalysts and one or more optional sequestering agents in a vessel over a period of time while maintaining the temperature of the solution at a temperature below about 100° C. The aqueous equilibrium peroxylactic acid solution can be used for reducing the bacterial count on food products, particularly a protein food product, during processing.

  • Patent number: 12064732
Abstract: Methods and related apparatus for providing a chemical intervention processing solution for use within processing tanks. Processing tanks can include side streams or ancillary systems for generating the chemical intervention processing solution that can then be introduced into the processing tanks. The antimicrobial agents will be added and mixed in the side stream to form the chemical intervention processing solution. Additional actions can be conducted on the processing solution within the side stream including any and or all of heating, pumping, sampling, measuring, testing and pH adjustment of the processing solution. The chemical intervention processing solution can also be provided by a venturi injector that combines processing water and an antimicrobial agent and/or an alkaline agent outside of the processing tank. The processing solution can be used for various food processing applications.

  • Patent number: 5551946
Abstract: A multifunctional intubating stylet and laryngoscope, and a method of intubating a patient, comprise a laryngoscope body, and a hollow tubular intubating stylet affixed to and extending generally parallel to the laryngoscope body. An endotracheal tube is mounted on the exterior of the stylet. A guide member is passed through the interior of the stylet and advanced through the patient's vocal cords into the trachea. The endotracheal tube is then advanced along the guide member until it is established in a desired location in the patient's trachea to permit ventilation of the patient.

  • Patent number: 5381787
Abstract: A laryngoscope with an extensible tip section is provided. The tip section extends from the blade and is remotely actuated to cause it to extend or retract as desired by the physician. The tip section is provided with alignment guides and retaining elements, and is lockable in the extended position. The laryngoscope permits remote manipulation of the blade to provide greater operational flexibility in using the laryngoscope.

  • Patent number: 5318008
Abstract: A cavitoscope with a flexible, remotely controlled distal end permits controlled targeting of a field to be visualized within a patient. The cavitoscope incorporates a hinged distal end remotely operable by an extensible cable that pushes on the distal end to cause it to angle away from the axis of the cavitoscope.

  • Patent number: 5003963
Abstract: A method for moving an object in the larynx and trachea region of a patient for use with a laryngoscope having a working channel. A device device has an elongate shaft adapted for movement within the working channel of the laryngoscope. Located at a distal region of the shaft are grasping jaws. The placement device grasps an object, moves the object relative to the laryngoscope and releases the object from the placement device at a desired position.
