  • Patent number: 9341283
Abstract: Apparatus includes a spindle having an outer surface configured with a surface finish that has openings/grooves, the outer surface also having an outer diameter; and also includes a switch target arrangement having a switch target in combination a target ring configured to be installed in the switch target so as to form the at least one switch target arrangement, and is also configured with an aperture having an inner diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the surface finish of the spindle, so that when the at least one switch target arrangement is installed over the spindle, interference causes at least a portion of the target ring to deflect into a groove/space of the surface finish of the spindle so as to energize the target ring to grip the surface finish of the spindle to secure the switch target when the spindle moves.

  • Patent number: 5887058
Abstract: A telecommunications switch (12) includes a dial plan database (300) used for creating, identifying, and verifying dial plan codes and dialing sequences of a desire dial plan (100). The dial plan (100) is created through a craft terminal (201) that communicates with a craft interface (200) of the telecommunications switch (12). The telecommunications switch (12) uses dial plans created and stored within the dial plan database (300) in performing a digit parsing routine. The digit parsing routine identifies dial plan codes and dialing sequences through digit collection by systematically eliminating possible dial plan codes until one is identified. The identified dial plan code is processed by performing valid or error actions associated with the identified dial plan code. The digit parsing routine continues with an incoming call until it has been appropriately handled and awaits for the next incoming call digits to be received.

  • Patent number: 5823509
Abstract: A diaphragm valve has an adjustment device for precisely setting maximum valve lift. A bushing threaded into the bonnet clamping the diaphragm within the valve body forms at its inward end an axially facing engagement surface which is engaged by an outwardly, axially facing engagement surface formed by a shoulder on the valve stem. The bushing can be threaded in or out without disassembling the entire valve to adjust the maximum lift to the precise setting desired. The bushing is then locked in place such as by a thread adhesive. Alternatively, the bushing can be threaded on the valve stem and be provided with a radial flange forming the axially facing engagement surface which engages a shoulder on the bonnet.

  • Patent number: 5632297
Abstract: A relief device which activates in response either to excess temperatures or pressures in or around a pressurized vessel and which resists extrusion related failures even at high pressures is provided. The relief device includes a body having an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid flow passage communicating with the inlet and outlet. The body further includes a fluid escape passage having a member therein which is porous to gases and liquids but not to solids and a plug of a fusible material which melts at a predetermined temperature positioned adjacent to the porous member. A first piston is positioned in the fluid flow passage and is normally biased into a sealing relationship with the inlet. A second piston is positioned in the fluid escape passage and is normally biased against and applies a compressive force on the plug of fusible material.

  • Patent number: 5586749
Abstract: A valve body pressure formed from pipe components includes an annular portion for receiving a ball closure member. A pair of conduit portions are connected to the annular portion and the ball. A stem housing for rotatably supporting a valve stem extends up from the annular portion. The stem housing, annular portion, and conduit portions are welded to form the unitary valve body. The conduit portions are integrally connected to end fittings adaptable to connect identical or different grades of polyethylene pipe or metal pipe to polyethylene pipe. The internal surface of the conduit portion includes gripping teeth and O-ring seals that frictionally and sealingly engage the surface of the polyethylene end fitting. The valve can include a metal end fitting and a polyethylene end fitting. The polyethylene end fitting is connected by butt fusion or electrofusion coupling to polyethylene conduit, generally 6 inches in diameter or larger for use in a natural gas distribution system.

  • Patent number: 5516078
Abstract: A gas cylinder valve with minimum wetted area has a one-piece valving assembly comprising a valve member, a non-perforated diaphragm member and a valve stem, the latter including a threaded stud and a stem shaft threaded on to the stud. The threaded stud, diaphragm member and valve member are fused together by a YAG laser weld applied through a central, blind bore in the valve member. Another through weld is applied around the peripheral edge of the threaded stud. A rim on the stem shaft clamps the diaphragm outside the peripheral weld through a pair of washers which absorb the torsional load. A helical compression spring bears on a valve stem shaft shoulder outside the wetted area to bias the valve open. A resilient bushing supported by a metal cup backs up the diaphragm member.

  • Patent number: 5154396
Abstract: A polyethylene plastic valve has a molded cylindrical body portion with an internal chamber with inlet and outlet openings. A unitary plastic plug member is rotatably positioned in the chamber. The plug member has an actuator portion formed of impact resistant plastic material, and a plug portion formed of dimensionally rigid plastic material with a flow passage therethrough. The plug member has open and closed positions. Dual durometer valve seats are positioned on the plug member to close the inlet and outlet openings in the valve body. The actuator portion of the plug member extends upwardly through the chamber and seals the internal chamber at the top by means of a circumferentially extending flange portion. A bottom cover plate is fused to and seals the lower end of the internal chamber. The bottom cover is arranged to disengage from the valve body and relieve excess pressure build up in the lower end of the chamber.
