Patent number: 10315739Abstract: Provided are two drop tubes and two case tubes with each case tube slidably receiving an associated drop tube. A sub-structure below the two drop tubes is formed of two wheels and two side plates. Each side plate is adapted to couple an associated wheel with an associated case tube. A super-structure above the two drop tubes is formed of two wings. Each wing has a C-shaped configuration. The two wings are positionable in a first orientation parallel with the drop tubes. In the first orientation, the two wings are laterally spaced from a vessel when the drop tubes are horizontal for transporting the vessel. The two wings are positionable in a second orientation perpendicular to the drop tubes. In this second orientation, the two wings form a cradle for supporting the vessel thereupon when the drop tubes are vertical for launching and retrieving the vessel.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2018Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Inventor: James R. Patent number: 8317016Abstract: A contact lens package includes a holder having a receptacle for holding a contact lens and a cap having a seal for sealing a contact lens within the receptacle. The cap is attached to the holder and is movable from an end of the holder where the receptacle is formed toward an opposite end of the holder. As the cap moves toward the opposite end of the holder, the end of the holder where the receptacle is formed ruptures the seal such that the contact lens can be removed from the package.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2009Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.Inventors: Michael Tokarski, James Peck, Edward Dzwill, George Brock, Michael D. Schulte, Ronald K. Coleman, James R. Davis

Patent number: 7789223Abstract: A contact lens package has a body with a lens receptacle therein covered by a hinged lid. The lid is offset on the body such that a ledge is formed by the base and an overhang by the lid. The ledge has a plurality of upstanding lugs that insert into mating receptacles formed in the overhang of an adjacent contact lens package, permitting the ganging of packages together for functional and aesthetic reasons.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2006Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Inventors: Michael Tokarski, James Peck, Edward Dzwill, George Brock, Roger W. Smith, James R. Davis

Patent number: 7079000Abstract: A spool assembly retains a winding of an electrical wire thereabout. The electrical wire is covered by a liquid insulating material. The spool assembly includes a cylinder to finding a longitudinal axis and an outer diameter. The cylinder extends between a high voltage end and a low voltage end along the longitudinal axis. The spool assembly also includes a high retainer disposed about the cylinder at the high voltage end. The high retainer has a high retainer diameter greater than the outer diameter of the cylinder. The spool assembly also includes a low retainer disposed about the cylinder at the low voltage end. The low retainer has a low retainer diameter greater than the outer diameter of the cylinder. This spool assembly also includes a channel extending along the cylinder inwardly from the outer diameter to receive the liquid insulating material when the liquid insulating material is forced through the winding to prevent air voids from forming at the inside diameter of the winding.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2004Date of Patent: July 18, 2006Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Colin Hamer, James R Davis, Oscar Gamboa

Patent number: 6980634Abstract: A controller selectively connecting and disconnecting extensions from a telephone line includes a plurality of extension connector ports selectively connected to a communication device and a plurality of relay switches. Each relay switch has three terminals and a toggle movable between connecting the first and second terminals and connecting the first and third terminals. Each first terminal is connected to a respective extension connector port. A processor is connected to an outside telephone line. Entry of a predetermined command code prevents use of the communication device connected to selective toggles. A plurality of tone detector modules each generate a command signal controlling the processor to connect a respective extension to the outside telephone line. A plurality of tone location identifiers are each activated upon receipt of a control signal from the respective tone detector module for generating a unique signal by which the processor distinguishes the extension connector ports.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2002Date of Patent: December 27, 2005Inventor: James R Davis

Patent number: 6953320Abstract: A ventilation fan assembly (10) having a fan (22) mounted in a housing (12) and a shutter assembly (60). The housing has a square inlet portion (12C), a circular center portion (12E) and a conical outlet portion (12D) having rifling grooves (20). The shoulder (16) formed between the inlet portion and the center portion is radiused to reduce disruption of air flowing from the inlet portion to the center portion. The shape of the blades (32) of the propeller (28) is such that the axial velocity produced as the propeller rotates is essentially constant along the length of the blades. The shutter assembly has a large, radiused entrance and airfoil shaped blades which reduce air disruption. The blades have a flexible flap (68) along the trailing edges (64D) which form a seal between adjacent blades to prevent air from leaking from the housing through the shutter assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2003Date of Patent: October 11, 2005Assignee: Munters CorporationInventors: James R. Davis, Daniel G. Hansen

Patent number: 6560595Abstract: A correlation operator &THgr; provides a way for the results of sub-queries to be correlated. The correlation operator &THgr; has an implied existential quantifier property (i.e., a “for some” property) and is satisfied if any record matches its sub-query. If no record is found that matches the correlation operator &THgr;'s sub-query, then the correlation operator &THgr; query fails. The implicit existential quantifier property of the correlation operator &THgr; can be converted into a universal quantifier property (i.e., a “for all” property) by transformation of the query. The correlation operator &THgr; uses an algebra to resolve into flags attached to appropriate operators in the sub-query. After the correlation operator &THgr; is eliminated from the query, the query can be performed. The operator flags perform the correlation as part of the sub-query. The correlation operator &THgr; can be inserted explicitly by the user if she knows what data she desires to be correlated.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1999Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: Novell, Inc.Inventors: Daniel S. Patent number: 6237487Abstract: An elongate, rigid blade holder has in its outer surface an elongate slot which is rectangular in cross section. An elongate, flexible squeegee blade has a first portion thereof extending downwardly into said slot and snugly between the sidewalls thereof. The remaining portion of the blade projects upwardly out of the slot and beyond the outer surface of the holder and has formed thereon at least one longitudinally extending printing edge. Each sidewall of the slot has formed in its upper edge a longitudinally extending recess opening on the outer surface of the holder and on opposite sides of the blade. Each of said recesses has an elongate, flexible blade locking rod removably press fit therein and frictionally engaged with the confronting side of the blade thereby removably securing the blade in the slot.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2000Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Inventor: James R. Patent number: 6167393Abstract: A method and apparatus disclosed may be implemented in a digital computer to query a set of arbitrarily structured records. Arbitrarily structured records are structured differently from each other. A query engine, query structure, operators of conventional and non-conventional types may be used in formulating a query. The apparatus may evaluate records having missing fields, repeating fields, or an UNKNOWN value arising from a missing field, division by zero, modulo by zero, or the like. New aggregator (e.g. universal quantifier and existential quantifier) and selector operators (e.g., first, last, nth) may distill multiple values to return a single value. To evaluate a query, the search engine may implement filtered indices, alternate-key indices, compound alternate-key indices, hybrid queries having both full-text and non-full text operands, and joinder of records.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1996Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Novell, Inc.Inventors: James R. Davis, III, Daniel S. Sanders, Scott W. Pathakis, W. Brent Bradshaw, Brian L. Jensen, Andrew A. Hodgkinson
