  • Publication number: 20020066302
Abstract: The present invention is an seat sensor calibration system used to calibrate the output of a pressure sensor embedded in a vehicle seat. The embedded pressure sensor is used in a vehicle to determine the force which air bags should deploy during a collision. The seat sensor calibration system has an assembly for dropping a body weight form on a vehicle seat from a fixed height. The calibration system also has data acquisition electronics for controlling the positional of the body weight form over the seat and for measuring the output of the pressure system. The seat sensor calibration system acquires the output of the pressure sensor upon impact and then immediately after lifting the weight form from the vehicle seat.

  • Patent number: 4667467
Abstract: A method for electric power production or cogeneration of electrical power and process heat and/or steam that integrates a solid carbonaceous fuel gasification system and gas turbine system. Fuel gas produced in the gasification system is combusted and the combustion gases used in the gas turbine system. The gas turbine system uses water spray intercooling of the compressor or compressors, with air-water mixture from the compressor used in the gasification system, while hot exhaust gas from the turbine system has heat recuperated therefrom and is used to produce steam, which is also used in the gasification system.

  • Patent number: 4067190
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine is shown having a catalytic reactor element to promote low temperature combustion of the fuel. An air-fuel premix chamber is provided in the upstream end of the combustor arrangement to produce a mixture which is substantially uniform throughout a plane transverse to the direction of flow of the mixture just prior to the catalytic element. The premix chamber comprises a short cylindrical member of less diameter than the shell of the combustor and closed at the upstream end, with the opposite end discharging directly to the catalytic element. The upstream portion of the walls of the cylinder contain apertures so that the air and fuel introduced into the upstream end of the combustor must flow axially into the annular space between the shell and the chamber, then the flow is abruptly changed to a somewhat radial component to enter the apertures and then the flow is again abruptly changed to an axial direction to enter the catalytic reactor.
