  • Patent number: 7526980
Abstract: A repositionable operating lever including a lever body having a handle and a generally hollow cylindrical housing, an inner end portion of which has a multi-faced wall configured to engage a multi-faced head portion of an adjusting member, an adjusting member positioned in the cylindrical housing and having a multi-faced head portion engaging the multi-faced wall of the inner end portion, a generally cylindrical end piece configured to fit within an outer end portion of the cylindrical housing, a biasing member having a inner end and a outer end, and wherein the lever body is capable of being moved in the outer direction relative to the adjusting member by manipulation overcoming the biasing force whereby the multi-faced head portion and the multi-faced wall disengage from one another, permitting relative rotation of the lever body and the adjusting member to reposition the lever body on the adjusting member.

  • Patent number: 7290342
Abstract: A circular saw assembly of the type that includes a motor housing, a handle coupled to the motor housing, a generally circular saw blade disposed within a blade housing at a first end of the motor housing, and a foot member through which the blade extends for guiding the saw assembly along a work surface, where the circular saw assembly including a depth of cut locking system and an angle of cut locking system. The depth of cut locking system includes an arcuate bracket with an arcuate slot, and an engagement member extends through the slot and is operatively connected to the motor housing and slideable in the arcuate slot. The angle of cut locking system includes a bracket having an arcuate slot and an engagement member movable in the slot and configured to the bracket. A biasing member is provided to bias the engagement member, and at least one detent recess is provided to retain the engagement member therein.

  • Publication number: 20030150120
Abstract: A toolless blade clamp for a reciprocating saw is disclosed comprised of a clamp body that defines a cavity for receiving a saw blade, a wedging member that traverses the cavity, operating means that is coupled with the wedging member and biasing means that acts on the operating means. In a clamping position, the operating means urges the wedging member into contact with an edge of a saw blade to securely clamp it within the cavity. In a releasing position, the operating means is manually urged by the user to bring the wedging member free of the cavity to allow insertion or removal of the saw blade.

  • Patent number: 5122427
Abstract: A unitary rechargeable battery pack includes a plurality of axially aligned battery cells coupled to each other in electrical series with an insulated housing surrounding and enclosing the cells. The housing includes complementary halves detachably connected to each other. First, second and third electrical terminals provide two positive voltages and a common or negative voltage terminal, respectively. First and second and third openings in one end of the battery pack expose the first, second and third terminals for electrical connection. The openings are accessible for connection in a 90.degree. quadrant at one end of the battery pack.

  • Patent number: 5121803
Abstract: An improved cordless motor-driven electric hand tool that has an elongated body portion with a tool bit-receiving chamber at one end and a housing at the other end having a battery-receiving chamber therein. An elongated tool bit storage chamber is formed in the housing above and/or below the battery-receiving chamber and has a cover that is pivotally mounted for open and closed positions. The housing is oval shaped to create a space above and/or below the battery-receiving chamber in which the tool bit storage chamber is formed.

  • Patent number: 4545123
Abstract: A reciprocating jigsaw tool having a plurality of selectible fixed linear plunger and blade motions as well as fully adjustable orbital and manual or auto scrolling saw blade control. A single mode selector is provided to select between the above operational modes. The mode selector includes a cam to selectively limit the oscillatory motion of a pivotally mounted plunger upper swivel bearing carriage assembly thereby directly limiting the degree of orbital plunger motion. The mode selector further includes a gear segment in operative engagement with a rack member which, in turn, engages an integral scrolling interface member of the top-mounted scrolling adjustment knob. The scrolling interface member incorporates an annular ring having a gap therein adapted to inhibit upward travel of the rack which, in turn, inhibits orbital saw operation when the plunger and blade is positioned other than in the cut forwardly position.

  • Patent number: 4081704
Abstract: A cordless electric drill has a housing formed by two clam-shell sections secured together by a plurality of fasteners. These housing sections define a closed motor and gear compartment which receives a sub-assembly, the latter including a generally U-shaped gear box frame mounting a small D.C. electric motor, a plurality of reduction gears and a spindle. A drill chuck is mounted on the spindle. The sub-assembly and the housing sections include co-operating mounting formations, defined in part by projections and cavities, which mounting formations serve to mount the sub-assembly in place in response to securing the clam-shell housing sections together by the aforesaid fasteners.
