    Abstract: An insert system for the finger and thumb holes of a bowling ball and a method for installing the insert system. The insert system includes a master that is bonded inside each of the holes. A number of inserts are provided having different internal diameters, shapes, and pitches (the angle of the hole relative to the ball's surface). Inserts are also provided that have offset internal holes, to allow for changes in finger span by rotating the insert relative to the master. The master is provided with tapered inner and outer surfaces. The taper on the outer surface helps in bonding the master to the ball by providing voids that are filled with adhesive. The tapered inner surface cooperates with a tapered outer surface on the insert, to lock the insert to the master. A round head screw assembly is additionally provided with each insert to insure that a shock of impact will not loosen the fit between the master and the insert.

    Abstract: A rotating blade damper for an air handling system, the damper having a perimetrical frame and a blade or a plurality of blades each of which is rotatable with respect to the frame between a flow permitting position and a flow blocking position. Each blade is biased toward its flow blocking position but is normally retained in its flow permitting position, for example, by a fusible link. A stop and lock mechanism is provided to stop each blade in a predetermined open or flow permitting position and to securely lock or latch each blade in its closed or flow blocking position. The stop and lock mechanism includes a disc segment which is carried by a blade rod, at a location outside of the damper frame, and a slide plate which is positioned between the damper frame and the disc segment.

    Abstract: A damper for an air handling system in which the blade or blades are normally positioned to permit air to flow through the damper by a pneumatic cylinder which, when pneumatically actuated, overcomes the force of a spring within the pneumatic cylinder which would otherwise position the blade or blades to close the damper to air flow. The pneumatic cylinder normally receives air through a primary outlet of a three-way valve, the three-way valve also having a vent outlet and a valve member which is movable to permit pneumatic flow either from a source of pneumatic fluid through the primary outlet or from the pneumatic cylinder back through the three-way valve for venting through the vent outlet.

    Abstract: A building panel which can be fabricated on site to any desired length, comprising a continuous strip having two mutually interlocking edge structures running the full length of the panel, one edge structure being adapted to be fastened to the underlying roof and including an outer flange with spaced slots through which a nail or screw can be used to fasten the panel, an upwardly projecting lengthwise first ridge with a rounded upper portion, an S-shaped recess spaced inwardly from the first ridge and running lengthwise of the panel, and the other edge structure including an outer flange adapted to be inserted into the S-shaped recess of the next adjacent panel, and an upwardly projecting lengthwise second ridge adapted to overlie the first ridge of the next adjacent panel.

    Abstract: A method for crimping tire bead rings in which an inner die member has grooves for holding the bead rings in the area of the bead splices and an upper die member engages the outer surface of the bead rings in that area. The die members are compressed with sufficient force for a sufficient period of time so that the strands of the bead rings are held together by the insulating material around the strands in the area of the bead splices. The side portions of the grooves control the spreading of the bead rings and may be flared to compress and then release the bead rings. The grooves of the inner die member may have movable inserts for ejecting the bead rings. The upper die member may also include grooves in mating engagement with the grooves of the inner die member for enclosing the outer portions of the bead rings at the splice area and provide for release of the bead rings after crimping.
