  • Patent number: 11938326
Abstract: Implantable medical systems enter an exposure mode of operation, either manually via a down linked programming instruction or by automatic detection by the implantable system of exposure to a magnetic disturbance. A controller then determines the appropriate exposure mode by considering various pieces of information including the device type including whether the device has defibrillation capability, pre-exposure mode of therapy including which chambers have been paced, and pre-exposure cardiac activity that is either intrinsic or paced rates. Additional considerations may include determining whether a sensed rate during the exposure mode is physiologic or artificially produced by the magnetic disturbance. When the sensed rate is physiologic, then the controller uses the sensed rate to trigger pacing and otherwise uses asynchronous pacing at a fixed rate.

  • Patent number: 11925356
Abstract: An example medical device for occluding the left atrial appendage includes an expandable member having a first end region, a second end region and an inflation cavity. The medical device also includes a plurality of spine members coupled to the expandable member, the plurality of spine members spaced circumferentially around an outer surface of the expandable member. Additionally, the medical device includes a valve member extending at least partially into the inflation cavity, wherein the plurality of spine members are configured to position the medical device within an opening of the left atrial appendage and wherein the expandable member is configured to expand and seal the opening of the left atrial appendage.

  • Patent number: 5669751
Abstract: A machine guard has an opening with a detachable door; i.e., sliding tracks and hinges are not used for door support. When an outside loader arm and its part grippers move to the door, the door is unlatched from the guard and attached to the arm. The arm and grippers then move through the opening, taking the door away from the opening.

  • Patent number: 5471900
Abstract: In a two-axis turning machine, the cutting tool unit machines a first diameter of a workpiece portion of barstock extending from a main spindle chuck. A special subspindle chuck rotating in the same direction advances axially, grasps the workpiece as it is cut off from the barstock, and retracts. The barstock is fed through the first chuck for subsequent first operation machining and located against a stop which is independent of the tool slides. The subspindle chuck rotation is reversed, displacing the first-generated workpiece axis from the subspindle axis, and a second diameter, eccentric to the first diameter, is formed by the cutting tool unit in a second operation.

  • Patent number: 5374222
Abstract: Spaced headstock shafts are supported in common headstock walls such that their ends are inaccessible. The shafts are connected by an active timing belt. A spare timing belt is assembled around, but held out of contact with the shafts. At replacement time, the worn active belt is cut and removed and the spare belt is axially moved into its place. The drive may also include a belt tensioner.

  • Patent number: 5049263
Abstract: A strainer cup strains a flow of particle-bearing fluid. When blocked, unstrained fluid overflows the cup spilling into a chamber. A switch detects a level of fluid and signals a blocked strainer cup condition, as the chamber drains off the unstrained fluid.

  • Patent number: 5047157
Abstract: A centrifugal particulates filter has inlet and outlet ports for coolant flow, and a flushing port for handling partiulates removed from the main coolant stream. The flushing port is connected to a coiled capillary tube to maintain a constant drain flow of particulates and coolant, the coolant being recycled to the coolant tank.
