Abstract: An equipoised lamp is provided which comprises a lamp head mounted on an adjustable arm assembly which is counter-balanced by internal coaxial torsion springs mounted within the adjacent end sections of the arms. The end sections are bent at 90.degree., so that the arms may be set to desired angular positions about respective mutually perpendicular axes. The arms may be mounted on an upright base so that the assembly constitutes a floor lamp, or they can be clamped to a table, to provide a draftsman's lamp assembly, and the like. The lamp head itself is mounted at an intermediate position on one of the arms, so that the end of that arm may form a handle for manually adjusting the lamp head to any desired position without any need to touch the hot lamp.

Abstract: A convertible bed is provided which may take the form of a crib that can be converted into a youth bed when the child outgrows the crib. The assembly comprises essentially a plurality of elongated rectangular side and end rails and a number of rectangular rigid panels. In each unit, the rigid panels are positioned in diagonally displaced relationship at the corners of the bed at each side and at each end, and the rails extend between the panels. The panels are provided with a series of holes along each side edge, and the ends of the rails are provided with holes, so that the rails may be easily attached to the panels with appropriate screws. The side rails extend across the inner face of the corresponding side panels in the case of the crib, so that the crib may have a foreshortened length.

Abstract: A convertible child's bed is provided which may be sold in the form of a crib for use by the child when it is very young, and which may subsequently be converted into a standard twin bed as the child becomes older.

Abstract: A bathroom and kitchen fixture is provided, which comprises a bent tubular member, and which includes a bushing-like tubular bracket whose outer diameter corresponds to the inner diameter of the tubular member, the bracket extending into one end of the tubular member to mount the tubular member on the wall. The fixture is shaped to constitute a toilet paper or paper towel holder.

Abstract: An article of furniture in the form of a four-sided open-bottom couch or bed is provided, comprising a rectangular bottom frame and U-shaped side frames coupled to the bottom frame, the side frames having pieces of canvas or other suitable fabric supported thereby to constitute sides for the couch. The sides of the couch slant outwardly, and spaces are provided at each corner to permit access by the occupants to drinks, books, and the like which may be placed on the floor outside of the area circumscribed by the couch. A mattress may be placed in the bottom frame of the couch; and a rug, blanket or the like may be placed over the mattress. Cushions may be placed against the slanting sides of the couch. The bottom and side frames are readily demountable for compact and easy shipment and storage. The couch may be placed on a supporting platform, if so desired.
