    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of describing a color in a newly defined trigonal planar vector color space, said description utilizing an achromatic component and only two chromatic components. This method is useful for describing colors in a way which more closely relates to human color perception than other color spaces and is particularly useful for color reproduction by the photographic, printing, and electrophotographic processes.
