  • Publication number: 20240124036
Abstract: A system for automatic wheel diameter measurement and calibration comprises one or more sensing device(s) configured to sense rotation of a wheel and provide rotation data of the wheel, a positioning system configured to provide positioning data of a vehicle, a database including milepost and distance data, and a controller configured to automatically calculate a wheel diameter and a wheel diameter inaccuracy based on the rotation data, the positioning data, and a distance between a start point and an end point extracted from the database, during operation of the vehicle. Further, an associated method and non-transitory computer readable medium are described.

  • Patent number: 9925994
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a train may override wayside interface units (WIUs) and/or override wayside devices. An example control system may comprise a transceiver configured to receive a status from a WIU and an on board unit (OBU) coupled to the transceiver. The OBU may be configured to override the command from the WIU and ignore a status from another wayside device associated with the WIU. The OBU may enforce all positive train control commands other than commands from sources associated with the overridden WIU.

  • Patent number: 7228461
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments provide a method comprising automatically enforcing user compliance with a plurality of predetermined steps of a computer-assisted verification test of a safety feature for a machine system; inducing an error condition in the machine system; and collecting data regarding a response of the machine system to the error condition.

  • Patent number: 5984503
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying and entering information associated with structures in a machining system, wherein each structure is associated with at least one setup in the machining system, and can be, for example, a pallet, fixture, or workface. A user interface receives the structure information from the user and displays at least a portion of the information, along with a structure icon, within a window on a display device. Preferably, the location of the tool in the machining system is also displayed within the window along with a machine configuration image which represents the configuration of the machining system. The structure information preferably includes the offset coordinates for the structure. Upon request from the user, setup icons and setup information for the setups associated with the structure can be displayed.

  • Patent number: 5465215
Abstract: A manual data input facility of a machine control includes graphically assisted input. An MDI main display and lead-through graphic displays are generated to facilitate selection of functions and entry of associated data. The displays make use of graphic icons and text recognizable by an operator. Input devices advantageously include a contact actuated touch screen and numeric keypad. A graphic assisted MDI mode of operation generates instruction blocks conforming to a predetermined user programming convention in response to operator selections and numeric data input. The operator initiates execution of instruction blocks so generated, one block at a time, by operation of a Cycle Start input.
