  • Patent number: 10512998
Abstract: An improved machining system for use in a CNC mill for the production of thin, hardened metal implement such as bed knifes includes a laminate mounting substrate with holes for receiving a pair of locator pins therein, at least one of the locator pins configured to displace longitudinally relative to the mounting substrate but not laterally which allows the system to accommodate a wide variety of metal implements. The system also includes magnetic cladding to protect the metal implement from metal chips being attracted by a magnetic element positioned beneath the mounting substrate to the finished product, allowing for higher quality cutting heads in the mill and a more efficient production of finished implements. A method of forming such implements is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9699948
Abstract: A metal implement such as an aeration tine formed from a hardened carbide tip affixed to a steel tine body is disclosed. The tine exterior surface is treated, such as by diffusion, with a hardening agent like aluminum-titanium-nitride and heating the tine to produce an implement that defines a hardness rating in excess of eight thousand (8,000) Vickers. The tip is attached to the body to form a tine. A method of manufacturing a tipped metal implement including the steps of providing a metal body and a hardened tip, treating substantially all of the body with a hardening agent, heating the body, and affixing the tip to an end of the metal body to form an implement that defines a hardness rating in excess of eight thousand (8,000) Vickers.

  • Patent number: 6978532
Abstract: A method of forming a durable mower bed blade is provided in which the grain of the metal is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the blade. The blade is formed in part by coining the blade on a hydraulic press which strengthens the cutting edge and other areas to prevent chipping and cracking. Additional steps in the process include shearing the blade to a proper width, heat treating and grinding the edge of the blade to sharpen it.

  • Patent number: 5353600
Abstract: A solar and battery powered thermoelectrically cooled cosmetic bag constructed of an insulative material sandwiched between two layers of thermally conductive and reflective material including a thermoelectric module. Said thermoelectric module comprising hot and cold surfaces which are in thermal communication with the interior and exterior thermally conductive layers. Photo voltaic cells on the exterior of the bag and thermocouples in thermal communication with the exterior thermally conductive layer of the bag charge a rechargeable battery located within the bag. A thermistor controlled proportional circuit allows current to flow from the photo voltaic cell array and rechargeable battery to the thermoelectric module which creates and maintains a predetermined temperature setting within the interior of the cosmetic bag.
