  • Publication number: 20100194985
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to provide a method and system for the generation and display of a channel space state for a band of frequencies in a wireless display device. One novel method enables the display of a channel space state by continuously or repeatedly scanning, in a remote wireless transceiver, a channel space to determine a channel space state. The channel space state is communicated to the wireless display device. When interference for the channel used to transmit content to the wireless display device is detected during a scan, a graphical representation of the channel space state is displayed in the wireless display.

  • Publication number: 20100178883
Abstract: The return channel in a multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) communication system is used to provide signal information on an individual-channel basis. In one embodiment, in a controlled factory environment, this information may be used to incrementing up or down the variable gain amplifier and/or the power amplifier of a MIMO transmitter and/or receiver so as to generate a default signal power offset to be used during normal operation. Thereafter, such signal information may similarly be provided via the return channel and used to further adjust the transmit parameters to account for location-specific signal conditions.

  • Publication number: 20100005484
Abstract: A point of deployment module includes a HOST-POD interface for connecting the point of deployment module to a digital audiovisual receiver. A first connector on the point of deployment module may receive a downstream signal from a service provider. A second connector on the point of deployment module may provide a signal to a tuner of the digital audiovisual receiver. An out of band transmitter in the point of deployment module provides an upstream signal to the service provider. A combiner may be coupled to the first connector, the second connector, and the out of band transmitter. The combiner may transfer the downstream signal from the first connector to the second connector and may transfer the upstream signal from the out of band transmitter to the first connector. The point of deployment module may include a receptacle for a second point of deployment module connected to the HOST-POD interface.

  • Publication number: 20090275302
Abstract: A circuit for producing a wake-up signal to control powering up an electronic system, has a frequency selective radio frequency (RF) amplifier circuit that amplifies signals within a predetermined frequency range and produces an amplified RF output signal. An RF detector detects the presence of amplified RF output at the output of the amplifier circuit and produces a signal W indicative of the instantaneous presence of the RF output signal. A threshold detector circuit determines if the amplified output signal has reached a predetermined threshold and produces an output signal T. A clock generates a clock signal having clock period in response to the threshold detector output signal T. A data decoder logic circuit turns off the clock in the absence of an RF output signal for a prescribed time period and decodes the RF detector output signal W into a stream of output signals.

  • Publication number: 20090209216
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention relates to a system for enhancing reception of radio-frequency (RF) signals by an audio-video device such as a high-definition television. The system comprises an audio-video device including a radio-frequency (RF) receiver to receive incoming EF signals, and an RF reflective element. The RF reflective element is positioned to reflect RF signals towards the audio-video device. The RF reflective element is at least partially imbedded with RF reflective materials to reflect undetected, RF signals destined for the audio-video device back to the RF receiver.

  • Publication number: 20030001981
Abstract: A modular digital television architecture and method of designing the same is disclosed. The television architecture includes a processing chassis module to convert an input signal into at a digital signal for use in providing information to a display. A presentation chassis module converts audio and visual components of the digital signal into a final signal for presentation on the display. An interface connects the processing and presentation chassis. The interface is a global interface capable of being used in conjunction with a plurality of chassis architectures. The processing and presentation chassis module are designed and operate independently of one another. The interface allows video, audio and digital data signals to be communicated over a single communication line. By employing a modular design, a variety of digital television systems can be readily produced.

  • Patent number: 5983087
Abstract: A radio with a tuner and other program sources uses a digital signal processor (DSP) to enhance the audio signal and to generate a stream of digital data including audio data and control data corresponding to loudness functions. A fiber optic data link couples the data stream to a plurality of remote DSP modules each of which drive one or more speakers. Each module contains a user programmed DSP, a digital to analog converter and an amplifier for each associated speaker. The DSP modules are identical except for software parameters which establish a transfer function and a loudness characteristic for each speaker. The same DSP modules and the same speakers can be used in several vehicle types and the system audio performance can be optimized by customizing software for each type of vehicle.
