  • Patent number: 5510583
Abstract: A switch assembly having a rocker type actuator user moveable for actuating plural switches in a housing. The rocker type actuator includes first and second rocker members journalled together for rotation about a common axis. The first member has a paddle extending out of the housing and a first cam portion for actuating a first switch upon initial rotation in one direction. Upon continued rotation in the same direction, overtravel of the first switch is absorbed by a torsion spring which permits resiliently biased lost motion of the first cam with respect to a second cam for subsequent actuation of a second switch. The torsion spring provides a significant increase in the force required to move the actuator between the first and second switch actuation to provide tactiley discernable feedback to the user of the state of switch actuations.

  • Patent number: 4992632
Abstract: A vacuum valve/switch assembly is presented. The switch is a combination of an electrical switch assembly and a vacuum dump valve, which operates in a predetermined sequence. The switch consists of a brass ferrule and two cantilever spring contact legs, identical to the existing cruise control brake switches. The vacuum valve consists of an "O" ring in a groove on a floating valve stem. The floating action of the stem permits the "O" ring to center itself in the valve seat. The "O" ring seals by virtue of a compressing spring and the pressure gradient created by the vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4272660
Abstract: A vacuum operated electric switch designed for automotive applications having a vacuum responsive diaphragm that releases the switch mechanism for movement from one of its two stable conditions. The switch assembly has a spring biased pivotal overcenter contact blade movable between two stationary contacts to give the switch a snap action characteristic. Stationary contact wiring is eliminated by bending the ends of the terminals, which are insert molded in a switch base, to directly support the contacts. Movable contact wiring is eliminated by staking a bracket for the movable contact blade directly to one of the terminals so that the bracket provides the conductive path between the movable contact and its terminal. The switch assembly is designed as a complete integral subassembly that may be manufactured separately from the main switch housing having a vacuum chamber and diaphragm therein.

  • Patent number: 4131234
Abstract: A sprinkler head comprising an annular sprinkler body of molded plastic having a tubular member of molded plastic snapped into operative fixed relation within the central portion thereof. A flow adjusting screw is threaded within the tubular member and has its head in adjustable flow restricting relation to inlet passages in the sprinkler body. Water flowing through the controlled inlet passages moves upwardly along the interior of an annular wall in the annular body, outwardly along an end wall of a molded plastic spray adjusting member threadedly mounted on the upper end of the tubular member, downwardly between the exterior of the annular wall and the interior of a peripheral wall of the adjusting member and then radially outwardly between cooperating flow pattern defining surfaces on the spray adjusting member and sprinkler body.

  • Patent number: 4059229
Abstract: A traveling sprinkler and guide wheel assembly therefor which minimizes the chances of the sprinkler leaving operative engagement with a hose defining a path of travel for the sprinkler. The sprinkler includes an elongated body with a water distributing assembly, a pair of cleated drive wheels mounted near the rear thereof, and a guide wheel assembly including a split guide wheel mounted for rotation with respect to a horizontal shaft adjacent the front thereof. Each half of the guide wheel includes a number of radially extending portions defined by slots disposed around the circumference thereof having tip portions extending axially outwardly therefrom.
