  • Patent number: 7699758
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes a frame and handles mounted on the frame and moveable by a user in opposite directions. The handles are coupled to a transmission so that movement of the handles by a user create rotational movement of a transmission input, movement of the handles in one direction creating rotational movement of the transmission input in one direction and movement of the handles in the opposite direction creating rotational movement of the transmission input in the opposite direction. The transmission couples the transmission input to a resistance means, such as an eddy current resistance device, in a manner to provide a different resistance to rotation of the transmission input depending upon the direction of rotation of the transmission input. Thus, the resistance to rotational movement of the transmission input in one rotational direction is greater than it is in the opposite rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 6921409
Abstract: A tongue cleaning device having an elongated planar member integrally formed of a flexible material and defining a handle portion and a head portion. The head portion is adapted to be pressed with the tongue against a top surface of a user's mouth to conform the head portion to the shape thereof. The cleaning portion includes a first layer and a second layer where the first layer is the head portion of the elongated member and the second layer is backing material. The cleaning portion includes a plurality of cleaning projections protruding outwardly from the second layer. The handle potion is made of deformable material for deforming around a user's teeth and has periphery sized and shaped to fit within a roof of the user's mouth.

Abstract: A tongue cleaning device having an elongated member integrally formed of a flexible material and defining a handle portion and a head portion, and cleaning portion attached to the head portion of the elongated member, is provided. The cleaning portion includes a plurality of cleaning projections protruding outwardly from the head portion of the elongated member. Due to the flexible nature of the elongated member, the head portion of the elongated member can be pressed with the tongue against the roof of the mouth to conform the head portion to the shape thereof.

  • Patent number: 6282826
Abstract: A protective holder for storing and displaying articles, such as photographs, baseball cards, game cards, and the like. The holder is formed from a front sheet that is welded to a back sheet to form a plurality of pockets. Cuts are made in the back sheet to create flaps with tabs that facilitate lifting of the flap for insertion and removal of articles in a manner that minimizes contact damage between the articles and the holder. The flaps are coplanar with the back sheet at all times to prevent indentation of the stored articles when pressure is applied to the flaps. This also enables insertion of entire holder into a thicker, stiffer sheath for further protection, if desired, without the problem of objects dislodging and falling out in the thicker, stiffer sheath.

  • Patent number: 6158254
Abstract: A double layer sock is formed on a circular knitting machine so that the inner layer and the outer layer are connected by knit stitches adjacent the toe portion and the inner and outer layer wales adjacent such connection are aligned. A section of knit courses is formed beyond the connected toe portion of both the inner and outer layer as an inner guide segment, an inner clip, an outer guide segment, and an outer clip, with each guide segment formed at a lower stitch density than either the toe portion or the clip that border the guide segment.

  • Patent number: 5125116
Abstract: A one-piece integrally circular knit athletic sock is provided which simulates the appearance of a separate stirrup being worn over the sock. The straps of the conventional stirrup are simulated and made prominent by a pair of stripes of a color which contrasts with the color of the body of the sock and which extend downwardly for a length sufficient to insure for the sake of appearance that the lower ends of the stirrup strap simulating stripes are below the normal level of the top of the athletic shoe. The curved front and rear edges of the stirrup straps are simulated by straight border lines but which resemble the curved lines when seen from a distance.

  • Patent number: 4035760
Abstract: 1. A system for detecting the movement of a remote object comprising trantting means for illuminating said remote object with a signal of wave energy, receiving means for recovering an echo reflected by said object, signal display means responsive to said echo to provide a separate visual display of each cycle of said reflected echo, and frequency comparing means responsive to a difference in frequency between the wave energy of said received echo and the wave energy of said transmitted signal to vary the orientation of said visual indication from a reference orientation, whereby a variation in said orientation will provide an instantaneous indication of a doppler effect on said transmitted wave energy.
