  • Patent number: 8085147
Abstract: A building security arrangement includes a sensor for emitting an audible alarm signal. A security system installed in the building detects the audible alarm signal and transmits an electrical alarm signal over a public switched telephone network in response to the detection of the audible alarm signal. A central monitoring station receives the electrical alarm signal over the public switched telephone network and notifies an alarm authority in response to receiving the electrical alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 7222448
Abstract: A business form particularly adapted for generalized use, although it may be used in a medical or hospital environment includes in a first embodiment a wristband that is provided with a face stock imaging area and an overlying laminate portion with each having one or more cinch slots through which the free end is inserted for securing the wristband about a person's appendage. The labels and the wristband may each be imprinted with identifying indicia such as bar coding and the form is laid out to be arranged in a continuous, relatively narrow, web for convenient processing through a thermal printer. A second embodiment of the invention includes a self laminating wristband similar in construction to other embodiments and comprised of a layer of face stock and a laminate, with the laminating portion having its overlapping half adjoined at the end of the first lamination portion instead of at its side.

  • Patent number: 7017294
Abstract: A business form particularly adapted for generalized use, although it may be used in a medical or hospital environment includes in a first embodiment a wristband that is provided with a laminate backing including a tab portion at the opposite end of a free end, with the tab portion having a cinch slot through which the free end is inserted for securing the wristband about a person's appendage. Several self adhering labels are provided inboard of the tab and may be individually separated from the wristband. The labels and the wristband may each be imprinted with identifying indicia such as bar coding. A second embodiment of the invention includes a page sized form with one or more self laminating wristbands readily separable from a carrier with each wristband comprised of a layer of face stock and a laminate, with the wristband including a printable face stock region die cut into the face stock and a strap portion, a laminating portion, and a cinch die cut into the laminate layer.

  • Patent number: 5531633
Abstract: In combination with a lathe having a headstock and a tailstock, a method of machining a metal workpiece includes: forming in a first end of the metal workpiece a cavity; positioning a spherical member in a predetermined position within the cavity; fixedly locating the spherical member in the predetermined position; mounting a second end of the metal workpiece in driving relation with the machine headstock; providing a means for rotatably supporting the first end of the metal workpiece; forming in a first end of the rotatable support means a cavity suitably dimensioned to conformably receive a predetermined portion of the spherical member; mounting a second end of the rotatable support means in the tailstock; mounting the first end of the metal workpiece in rotatable supporting relation with respect to the first end of the rotatable support means such that the cavity of the first end of the rotatable support means supportingly receives a predetermined portion of the spherical member which extends from the firs

  • Patent number: 4090490
Abstract: A portable barbeque grill having a coal-receiving member hingedly connected to a cover member rotatably mounted between a pair of inverted U-shaped side frame members. The hinge means between the cover member and the coal-receiving member mounts the coal-receiving member and cover member off center between the juncture of the rear legs and the bight portion of the inverted U-shaped frame members so that the coal-receiving member can rotate under its own weight to a position wherein coals and ashes can be readily removed from its interior. The coal-receiving member can be locked in a substantially horizontal position by retaining pins received through the juncture of the front legs and bight portions of the inverted U-shaped frame members and inserted into the coal-receiving member to preclude it from rotating.
