    Abstract: A vertical axis wind turbine includes a rotating frame carrying a plurality of flexible, resilient blades rigidly secured at their leading edges to the rotating frame. The trailing edges of the blades, which are free to flex, react to the wind for producing a force in the direction of rotation of the frame. As the blades rotate through one hundred eighty degrees they change orientation and continue to receive the air current in proper relation for driving the frame forwardly.
