  • Patent number: 4512094
Abstract: A plastic poster frame and display holder for replaceable posters, pictures and similar advertising or decorative material has extruded frame forming sections comprising hingedly connected front and back parts. A relatively resilient elongated plastic portion is integrally formed as part of the frame section and provides a biased clamping force for holding a poster of similar display between the hinged parts.

  • Patent number: 4509714
Abstract: A wind-resistant sign and stand apparatus is disclosed and generally includes a base assembly for supporting a sign panel protruding generally outwardly therefrom. The base assembly includes one or more flexible and resilient based members retained in a generally bow-shaped arcuate configuration. The base members are adapted to further deflect in response to wind or other loads in order to substantially prevent the sign and stand apparatus from tipping over.

  • Patent number: 4507887
Abstract: An improved sign and sign stand assembly is disclosed wherein the sign stand includes a mounting member for mounting the sign panel on a frame member of the stand. The frame member permits the sign assembly to laterally pivot or swing under side-wind loads in order to allow a resilient portion of the frame member to deflect generally along a predetermined plane, thereby substantially preventing the sign assembly and stand assembly from tipping over. The sign assembly further includes an improved device for attaching the sign panel to its associated support members or cross-braces. Such improved attachment device is especially advantageous in connection with flexible sign panels.

  • Patent number: 4310991
Abstract: A sealing system for an entry door incorporates a threshold member having a longitudinally extending open-ended channel in its upper surface. The sweep utilizes a double vertical seal design which encloses the channel when the door is shut. The first seal contacts exterior portions of the channel whereas the second seal contacts interior portions of the channel. The channel is vented through the threshold so that the pressure on both sides of the first seal is equalized to minimize water seepage, while the second seal completely blocks the outside air from the interior of the building. The threshold is preferably of a two piece construction which may be snapped together to thereby minimize manufacturing and installation costs.

  • Patent number: 4152876
Abstract: A metal faced door for use as a replacement in existing door frame installations comprises a wooden frame providing a central cavity and pair of metal panels adhered on opposite faces of that frame with a synthetic resin foam core filling the cavity and bonded to both the wooden frame and the metal panels. The stiles of the wooden frame have longitudinally existing channels spaced from the side edges of the frame, and inturned lips on the side margins of the metal panels are fitted into these channels. The metal panels are dimensioned to terminate inwardly from the outer edges of the rails of the frame so that there is a peripheral margin of wood extending completely thereabout. In using this replacement door, it is mounted upon the existing hinges and any areas of interference are noted and trimmed. The location of the existing latch is also noted and the door is provided with the necessary apertures for the knob set and latch which are then mounted thereon.
