  • Publication number: 20020117901
Abstract: A flame containment and suppression baffle architecture for a card cage of an electronic circuit cabinet includes a baffle structure having a pivotable flap that is retained by a meltable solder attachment in an open position, that normally allows cooling air, either convection or forced fed, to exit the card cage housing. In the event of a fire in the card cage, any flame or heat therefrom is steered by a set of guide rails along a canted baffle deflector, to the solder attachment. This focusing of heat upon the solder attachment causes the solder to melt quickly, so that the flap is released and rotates downwardly to a second (vertical) position against the air vents, closing the only exit for the flame and smoke. Smoke soon backs up until it starves the flame of oxygen and extinguishes the flame. Where the card cage is equipped with a forced air system, a microswitch may be located above the baffle roof with its actuator passing through a slot in the baffle and resting on the flap.

  • Patent number: 5873670
Abstract: New dispensers for cake cosmetic products are disclosed. In one embodiment, the dispenser includes a cover member defining a compartment; a cosmetic in the compartment; an abrader member at least partially in the compartment, effective to abrade the cosmetic in the compartment and defining at least one hole through which abraded cosmetic from the compartment passes; and an applicator member including an applicator tip for cosmetic application purposes which is adapted to be placed in proximity to the abrader member to at least partially coat the applicator tip with abraded cosmetic from the compartment.

  • Patent number: 5526751
Abstract: A flare including a body, an ignitable projectile in the body, an igniter for initiating ignition of the ignitable projectile and initiating propulsion of the projectile out one end of the body, a cap removably coupled to the other end of the body and an ignition member in the body and the cap which can be pulled to ignite the igniter composition. The flare also includes a safety shield at least partially receiving the body and the cap and being releasably retained against substantial axial movement relative to the body in a retracted position to inhibit removal of the cap from the body and being responsive to a force to move relative to the body and cap to an extended position. Confronting surfaces of the shield and cap are configured to provide a passage for water to escape from a region between the shield and the body. The end of the shield adjacent the body is configured to provide a plurality of resilient fingers.

  • Patent number: 4997300
Abstract: A dispenser for an extrudable product includes an applicator member having a handle and an applicator tip connected to the handle, a cover member having a hollow interior that extends along a cover member axis to an open end of the cover member, which open end is dimensioned and arranged to receive the applicator tip, a supply of an extrudable product within the cover member, and an extrusion mechanism within the cover member. The extrusion mechanism includes an extrusion die and components for enabling a user to rotate the extrusion die relative to a portion of the cover member in order to operate the extrusion mechanism. The extrusion die has an extrusion orifice and it bears against the cover member at an interface between the extrusion die and the cover member.

  • Patent number: 4880326
Abstract: A dispenser for a flowable substance more viscous than water includes an applicator member and a cover member that can be separated for use and rejoined for storage. The applicator member has an applicator tip to be used for application purposes, the cover member has a hollow interior that extends to an open end, which open end is dimensioned and arranged to receive the applicator tip, and the cover member contains a supply of the substance and an extrusion mechanism for extruding an amount of the substance toward the open end. The extrusion mechanism includes components for enabling a user to operate the extrusion mechanism by rotating the applicator member relative to the cover member while the applicator tip is within the open end.
