  • Patent number: 12119621
Abstract: A magnetic induction device is provided for triggering an electric spark discharge in response to a variable voltage. The device includes an inductor; a resistor series having first and second resistors; and a discharge device. These are arranged in a receiver circuit in which the inductor, the resistor series and the spark gap are disposed in parallel. The inductor connects between the first and second resistors to a gate electrode of the discharge device. Magnetic flux induces a current into the electrode responsive to the receiver circuit temporarily overlapping the inductor, thereby inducing the spark.

  • Publication number: 20080109587
Abstract: A device (100) that includes a communications port (130), a first processor (135), at least a second processor (140), and a multiplexer (105). The multiplexer can selectively communicatively link the communications port to the first processor or the second processor. The multiplexer can include at least one switch (110, 115) and a switch controller (120) that controls operation of the switch. The switch controller can be responsive to at least one control signal (125) generated by the first processor. The first processor can generate the control signal in response to a command received from an external device (155) connected to the communications port. The command can be an attention command or a test software command. The switch controller also can be responsive to at least one control signal generated by the second processor.

  • Publication number: 20080101446
Abstract: A method of managing a plurality of modems within a communication device can include determining that a plurality of modems within the communication device will concurrently transmit a network response to a received page (415). A modem selection value for each of the plurality of modems can be calculated (425). A time at which one or more of the plurality of modems transmits a network response can be modified according to the modem selection values of the plurality of modems (440).

  • Publication number: 20080003992
Abstract: A user interface (720) that presents a plurality of screens and a communication device (700) that includes such a user interface. The plurality of screens can include a first screen (102) that indicates a first communication link is established between the communication device and a first contact, and a second screen (114) that indicates at least a second contact with which the communication device is to establish a second communication link. A third screen (140) also can be provided. The third screen can indicate that the first communication link is established and the second communication link is established, and present at least one selectable item (144) correlating to the first communication link and at least one selectable item (146) correlating to the second communication link.

  • Patent number: 6003411
Abstract: A salvage tool for removing worn, damaged or seized threaded fasteners includes a socket body having formed therein a fastener-receiving recess with an axis of rotation, the recess having a plurality of substantially flat planar surfaces arranged in a polygonal configuration and substantially parallel to said axis, with each of said flat planar surfaces having projecting laterally inwardly therefrom a fastener-engaging surface with inner and outer ends spaced apart in use substantially axially, each fastener-engaging surface being arcuate in transverse cross-section perpendicular to said axis and sloping away from said axis from said inner end toward said outer end.
