  • Patent number: 8375800
Abstract: A compression sensor gasket and method of construction thereof is provided. The gasket has a body with opposite sealing surfaces and a through passage configured to align with a chamber to be sealed. A through opening extends between the sealing surfaces to the through passage and has an annular chamfered surface. A pressure sensor assembly having a housing and a pressure sensor extending at least partially through the housing is disposed in the through opening. The pressure sensor has a pressure sensor tip configured to sense pressure within the chamber to be sealed. The housing has an outer annular tapered surface configured to register in radial alignment with the chamfered surface to facilitate forming a hermetic seal between the pressure sensor assembly and the gasket body.

  • Patent number: 6931705
Abstract: A method of modifying a combustion seal of a diesel engine fitted with a cylinder liner having an annular top sealing ridge which is damaged or mispositioned so as to interrupt the combustion seal is provided. The method includes exposing the sealing ridge and, without removing the liner from the engine, clamping and plastically deforming a combustion seal shim against the sealing ridge to perfect the combustion seal.

  • Patent number: 6843217
Abstract: An independent electrical module 26 distributes an electrical signal to the terminals 24 of a fuel injector device in an engine. The module 26 comprises a self-supporting plastic lead frame 28 with copper ribbons 30 disposed on the plastic frame 28. Pluralities of terminal connectors 32 are separate from and movable relative to the frame 28 for being connected to the terminals 24. The ribbons 30 continue in a free and self-sustaining support portions 31 between the frame 28 and the terminal connectors 32 and are bendable for allowing movement of the connectors 32 relative to the frame 28. Each of the connectors 32 includes a polymeric body defining a pair of the sockets 36 with an electrical contact 38 in each of the sockets 36 and a pair of the bendable support portions 31 paired with the contacts 38 in each connector 32.

  • Patent number: 6227784
Abstract: A multi-part vibration isolating fastener assembly includes a bolt having a threaded shank and a head about which a sleeve and resilient grommet are disposed. A cup washer is disposed about and captured axially on the grommet to provide a unitized assembly. The integrated cup washer defines a self-contained cup-shaped socket to provide proper support and containment for the grommet in applications where the usual cup-shaped grommet wall is lacking in the components to be assembled, such as a valve cover, and cylinder head.
