The first beam includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end and the second end extend from the body. The second beam includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end of the second beam. The first end of the second beam extends from the body.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly may include a wire cable having an elongate conductor extending along a longitudinal axis. The conductor defines an exposed face arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The exposed face has a surface area that is substantially equal to a cross sectional area of the conductor. The electrical connector assembly may also include an electrical terminal having a contact face. The exposed face of the conductor is metallurgically welded to the contact face of the electrical terminal. A method of assembling an electrical connector is also provided.

Abstract: A shielded electrical connector includes a shield terminal attachment segment having a tubular first portion defining a first seam and second portion having two semicircular channels that extends from the first portion oriented at a right angle to the first axis, an inner insulator disposed within the shield terminal attachment segment, and a shield terminal connection segment having a tubular third portion and a second seam formed separately from the shield terminal attachment segment and attached to the shield terminal attachment segment such that the third portion is coaxial with the first portion. Edges of the first seam and edges of the two semicircular channels are joined by the attachment of the shield terminal connection segment to the shield terminal attachment segment. A method of forming the shielded electrical connector is also provided.

Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector body and a seal. The connector body defines a cavity and a terminal slot in fluid communication with the cavity. The seal is removably disposed within the cavity. The seal includes a body defining a terminal aperture, a first rib and a second rib extending from the body, and a flap extending from the body. In an assembled configuration, the first rib and the second rib engage portions of the connector body.

Abstract: An electrical terminal includes a cylindrical inner ferrule having a first portion and a second portion separated by at least one seam therebetween. An inner surface of the first portion and/or second portion defines a gripping feature that is configured to deform a cylindrical dielectric layer surrounding an electrical conductor of an electrical cable. The electrical terminal also includes a cylindrical outer ferrule surrounding the inner ferrule. A method of assembling an electrical cable is also presented.
