Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for providing support for job searchers through a social network. Based on a series of inputs, users are assigned to groups in which they support one another in their job search. User activity is then guided through a series of prompts. This makes it possible for job seekers to discuss openly their job search with others, seeking help and support from others, educating them on best practices for job searches, and helping to connect them to professional opportunities. Embodiments of the invention have myriad other applications in organizing social activity, discussion, and mutual support.
