  • Patent number: 11713810
Abstract: A transmission system efficiently performs efficiently and also provides the ability to perform full-power shifts. For example, a secondary clutch actuator, independent of fluid actuation, may eliminate the need for a pump to continuously provide high pressure during regular vehicle operation such that high pressures are only required during a shift event. This eliminates the need for energy at the pump to maintain application of the clutch, thereby allowing such energy to be used of other systems in the EV or to facilitate increased vehicle range.

  • Patent number: 11519464
Abstract: A profiled wheel assembly for coupling to a shaft includes a profiled wheel having a first guide slot extending radially outwardly from a central aperture of the profiled wheel and a first assembly slot spaced apart from and parallel to the first guide slot. A retainer is supported on the profiled wheel for movement between a lock position wherein the retainer axially locks the profiled wheel relative to the shaft and a release position wherein the retainer axially unlocks the profiled wheel relative to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 11231119
Abstract: A check valve assembly for controlling a flow of fluid in a transmission from a first cavity to a second cavity is disclosed. Check valve assembly may include a housing having a fluid passageway therein, a biasing member supported by the housing for axial movement along a first axis, and a valve element positioned within the fluid passageway of the housing. The valve element may be moveable between a seated position and an unseated position. An intersection of a plane normal to the first axis and the valve element defines a seating boundary of the element, which may define a minimum distance from the seating surface of the fluid passageway to the valve element when the valve element is in the unseated position. The check valve may include at least one swage extending radially inwardly from the fluid passageway to limit axial movement of the valve element.

  • Patent number: 10876601
Abstract: A multi-speed transmission including a plurality of planetary gearsets and a plurality of selective couplers to achieve a plurality of different speed ratios is disclosed. The plurality of planetary gearsets may include a first planetary gearset, a second planetary gearset, a third planetary gearset, and a fourth planetary gearset received within a housing. The plurality of selective couplers may include a number of clutches and a number of brakes. A thrust load containment circuit is operably coupled to the plurality of planetary gearsets. The thrust load containment circuit includes a plurality of components arranged to resolve axial thrust loads from the plurality of planetary gearsets independent of the housing.
