  • Publication number: 20240033752
Abstract: A separation apparatus having a first tube having an inside diameter and a height, a second tube having an outside diameter and substantially the height of the first tube, the second tube concentric with the first tube, the tubes having a common center-line, a spiral track implemented between the first tube and the second tube, the spiral track descending along the first and second tubes, and a plurality of magnet assemblies positioned on an outside wall of the first tube, providing magnetic fields through the outside wall of the first tube into regions where the spiral track meets the inside diameter of the first tube. A material mixture is introduced at an upper end of the apparatus, entrained in water down the spiral track, and some of the magnetic particles are separated from the material mixture and retained in the magnetic field of individual ones of the magnet assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20230369862
Abstract: A method for conditioning and maintaining power transmitted to a customer load from a primary or secondary power supply is disclosed. The method includes receiving a first input from the power supply, converting the first input using a converter, and continuously adjusting at least one converter power parameter to satisfy at least one inverter power parameter. The method determines whether the first output transmitted from the converter to an inverter satisfies the at least one inverter power parameter. If the output satisfies the inverter power parameter, then power is supplied to the customer load without charging or discharging a high discharge battery stack. The method also includes monitoring primary power supply parameters and switching to the secondary power supply if the primary power supply parameter fails to satisfy the respective primary power supply parameter threshold.

  • Patent number: 11662371
Abstract: Semiconductor devices, and in particular semiconductor devices for improved resistance measurements and related methods are disclosed. Contact structures for semiconductor devices are disclosed that provide access to resistance measurements with reduced influence of testing-related resistances, thereby improving testing accuracy, particularly for semiconductor devices with low on-resistance ratings. A semiconductor device may include an active region and an inactive region that is arranged along a perimeter of the active region. The semiconductor device may be arranged with a topside contact to provide access for resistance measurements, for example Kelvin-sensing resistance measurements. Related methods include performing resistance measurements from a topside of the semiconductor device, even when the active region of the semiconductor device forms a vertical contact structure.

  • Publication number: 20230152830
Abstract: A transistor semiconductor die includes a first current terminal, a second current terminal, and a control terminal. A semiconductor structure is between the first current terminal, the second current terminal, and the control terminal and configured such that a resistance between the first current terminal and the second current terminal is based on a control signal provided at the control terminal. Short circuit protection circuitry is coupled between the control terminal and the second current terminal. In a normal mode of operation, the short circuit protection circuitry is configured to provide a voltage drop that is greater than a voltage of the control signal. In a short circuit protection mode of operation, the short circuit protection circuitry is configured to provide a voltage drop that is less than a voltage of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 11618038
Abstract: An elutriation apparatus has a mechanism adapted to move water along a path, the water entraining material particles of different density, and a plurality of elutriation columns interfaced to the mechanism adapted to move the water with entrained particles, the elutriation columns interfaced along the path, each elutriation column having a vertical bore with water controlled to travel up the vertical bore at one velocity and having also a capture element at the bottom of the bore. As the water with entrained particles passes over each interface to an elutriation column along the path, particles of a density sufficient for the particles to settle in the elutriation column at a velocity greater than the upward velocity of water in the bore of the elutriation column, settle to the bottom of the column, and particles of lesser density pass on to a next elutriation column interfaced along the path.

  • Patent number: 10570615
Abstract: A multimode or multi-configuration insulation assembly includes a cover and a frame. The frame has a seal or gasket which may be oriented upwardly in a first configuration or oriented downwardly in a second configuration. In the first configuration, the insulation assembly defines an insulative 5-sided box. In the second configuration, the insulation assembly is a four-sided frame with a removable cover, which enables the four-sided frame to remain installed on the attic floor to act as a dam to hold back blown-in attic insulation when the cover is removed to permit ingress and egress to the attic through the opening formed in the attic floor.

  • Publication number: 20160139721
Abstract: Methods and devices for storing and associating audio tracks to user-defined touch zones on a photo frame are provided. In one aspect, the photo frame includes a capacitive sensor array that provides a platform for a user to overlie a photo thereon. The capacitive sensor is coupled to a microprocessor that permits the generation of user-defined touch zones based on the user selecting an object in the photo by encircling the object with a touch gesture. The frame also includes a microphone for recording an audio track corresponding to each user-defined touch zone. The audio tracks and corresponding touch zones are stored in a memory. In some embodiments, the microprocessor can determine a selected touch zone based on a location of the user's touch and, based on the location, playback the audio track corresponding to the selected touch zone.

  • Patent number: 9222265
Abstract: An insulating system comprises a cover and a generally rigid attic sealing member. The cover defines an interior chamber, and the interior chamber is filled with insulation. The cover further forms a cavity in the bottom of the cover, where the attic sealing member is received into the cavity. Together, the system raises the insulating value (R-value) of an area above an attic opening to a minimum R-value level required by many building codes. The cover may be filled with insulation through a slit or passage extending along the top of the cover.

  • Publication number: 20150359392
Abstract: An elevated seat assembly for a toilet bowl has a stiff platform adapted to (a) rest atop said bowl, and (b) attach to the rear of the bowl. The assembly also has a compressible, raised seat that is releasably attached to the stiff platform. The raised seat has a flexible upper surface. The raised seat and platform can be installed together on the bowl. The raised seat can then be removed from the platform, leaving the platform installed on the bowl. In some cases the raised seat is horseshoe-shaped and its front to back orientation can be reversed before reinstalling it on the platform.

  • Patent number: 8831825
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring fuel efficiency of a vehicle is provided. Fuel efficiency of a vehicle may be monitored in real-time using telemetry transmitted from the vehicle. The telemetry may be analyzed in combination with a fuel efficiency model in order to determine whether the real-time fuel efficiency determination deviates from a baseline fuel efficiency. The real-time fuel efficiency monitoring system and method may be used for feedback for the driver, such as sending real-time messages to the driver to modify operation of the vehicle to increase fuel efficiency. The fuel efficiency model may further be used to assign vehicles in a fleet to particular routes, vehicles to particular drivers, or vehicles to particular routes with particular drivers.
